It's premature to expect anything. Politicians regularly promise the world and even promise to tie a nice little bow around it too. Nobody wants promises - they want results.
And whether anything is REALLY going to change or not is still completely a matter of speculation. We will all have to wait and see.
But, as the saying goes, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results". We may not get different results from the governement after this election, but at least we're not doing the same thing over and over. And most of America clearly doesn't like the way various things are going.

I am an Italian married to an American. We live in Italy. My husband and I are very happy with the result of this elections. I don't know if something will change, I strongly hope so because how things are going now wont take us anywhere. It is really sad that we are still talking about nations instead of development and consciousness of the humans on this planet. After many years in politics I arrived to the conclusion that we cannot change thing only through it but we have to start from ourselves and I am afraid USA population still has a long way to go. Sorry it is not my intention to hurt anybodies feelings but I see from all the informations we receive that Americans are still very much convinced they ARE the thruth and they have to convince everybody else they are right...and this is not a question of right or wrong, this is a question of considering every human beeing as valuable as the one you know; one child in Iraq, Afganistan, Vietnam, Cambogia,ecc.. has the same value of one child in USA ? This is not because the USA population is particularly "evil" but just because it is the most powerful (I am sure that if we were in the positions of the USA it would be probabely the same).
Sorry for the mistakes...

I like you wait-and-see stance idea. I mean this is something that has already spiraled out of control and I'm not sure if it is possible even if superman or wonder woman became president. This has to be the scariest thing in the world to me. We could see our markets faulter and our lives changed drastically. I am democrat but im thinking we do have a long long way to go! It should start now though!

I'm not waiting. I started cashing out investments in the U.S. on November 6 and began reinvesting overseas on November 8.
The Democrats will enact punitive legislation against America's corporations that will force them into bankruptcy or force them to reposition themselves offshore. Just try to get get milk when the cow is overseas.

Maybe you need to go over to Iraq to celebrate with Al Qaeda. It is going to get worse now that the head of Al Qaeda in Iraq says that they will not stop until they destroy the White House.

It's good that there's a change - that doesn't mean there's not a lot of hard work still to do.

i do not mean to offend, but anyone exited about this change is ignorant, unless you have heard any democrat offer any solution to any problem we face.
they ran on, and got people to rally behind the prospect of election by DEFAULT.
"DON'T ELECT US BECAUSE OF WHAT WE HAVE OFFERED TO DO, ELECT US SIMPLY BECAUSE WE ARE NOT THEM!"
"DON'T VOTE FOR ME, VOTE AGAINST HIM. I'M ON THE BALLOT AS "NOT THE OTHER GUY""
