Should living in the U.S. be treated as a right, or a privilege ?

I look at it as a privilege, if you are allowed to live here, you have proven to this country that you can contribute in a positive way.

The resident is jeopardizing my job to the director of nursing by telling lies on me, telling people that she is going to get me fired, calling me out of my name, and I heard the director of nursing tell her that she beleives what she is saying and I'm afraid that I will go to work one day and I will be out of a job. If you are one of the people who constantly refer to the main cause or reason for our Iraq invasion, as well as other military ventures in the recent past as OIL - please answer:

Why didn't we just keep Kuwait after we drove the Iraqis out?

Why did we make the Arabs so filthy rich over the years by PAYING for their oil?

Why did we not invade them in 1974 when they almost crippled our economy with their oil embargo?

And, finally, how do you explain Viet Nam, Korea, El Salvadore, Samolia, etc..etc...
There's no oil in those places, only repressed people.

Convince me that the United States' intentions in all of these examples was anything but for humanitarian or defensive purposes - and, therefore, justifiable. Try and rely on facts and not bogus websites and op-blogs.

For anyone tempted to bash Bush or Kerry or Clinton or whomever -
This is not a Republican vs. Democrat question.
It is a bipartison question concerning United States' foreign policies.

Last Friday I went to a Chinese restaurant. When the waiters were cleaning up, they took my dental retainers in the napkin and threw them away. I did not realize that until I was finished eating, like twenty minutes after. I told the owner and the owner gathered up the trash cans and the red cloth napkins, and I had to look through them with my friends. I could not find them.
So, I contacted my orthodontists, and they cost $390, $180 each and two pieces. I talked to the owner on the phone today and I "indirectly" showed that I wanted a reimbursement. I had to hang up. Unfortunately for this case, I know the owner personally (not so much closely). The owner isn't even willing to help me and she talked to me like it was all my fault, when the employees actually threw them away. I believe there is a reimbursement order I can get from a court to make them pay me? Can you provide me some information about that? I'm in Colorado, near Denver. Or else what would be a good way to handle this

The cop said "im giving you a citation for running a stopsign for 183$ and 4 points on your license, also 1 for reckless driving because it was wet and there was kids around.
The truth was I stoped aobut 10 feet before the stop (an area which he couldnt see) because people were in the way (trick or treating). He just saw me not stop at the sign and run through the intersection.
But he didnt give me anything. He just said Have anice day and left. - nor did i sign any paper (like i did when i got a ticket for speeding once). Did I get a ticket? Will i recieve something like a court apperance in the mail? If so, can i defend it by saying that i didnt recieve a ticket (since I didnt sign anytihng)?

This week Tony Blair declared 'war on global warming' in one of his speeches.
He pledges that Britain will lead the way in being eco-friendly, and that the way to fund this is the so called 'eco-tax'.
What do you think. Is Tony Blair sincere in his efforts to save the planet, or is this merely a PR attempt designed to raise more money for the government to spend on things they've failed on...like immigration, education, the NHS, pensions and general state welfare..
