Most definitely, I am a proud American of Mexican descent and let me tell you any illegal alien crossing the border just to have a child born in the U.S.A. should have to sign papers in their native language at the hospital before being treated that they agree to be deported with their child to their Country and the offspring will not become an American Citizen automatically.

The law, is as it should be, however, it has been misinterpreted. That is why babies born to illegals have been given automatic citizenship. The law needs to be made 'clearer' to make sure it is no longer misunderstood.(It is in our Constitution) It actually meant babies born on U.S. soil to American citizens automatically became citizens and did not have to go through any citizenship procedures like an immigrant. It did not mean an 'illegal' immigrant could have a baby here and it automatically becomes a citizen.

yes. this stems from the 14th amendment which gave the freed African slaves American citizenship in 1865. this is now a movement in congress to repeal this amendment and remove birthright. the parents citizenship at time of birth and status as a immigrant would account for the child's citizenship. so if a illegal had a child here both the parents and child could be deported. it cost the American taxpayer billions of dollars to pay for health care for the illegal's child. we cannot even give all our citizens health care but the illegal gets it. it is not fair.

"It is pretty ridiculous that some people steal, using children to do it! Disgraceful!" --- Hmmm, you know what's ridiculous is "labeling" children for something they had no control over. If you're accused of a crime, should your children then be labeled as criminals as well??!! Or if you're ignorant and unkind, does that automatically apply to your children too??!! Just a thought folks, you may want to think before you speak/write because while you believe the illegals are oblivious to what you are saying because of the language barrier, their AMERICAN children are not!!

It will be very hard to change an admendment. I don't even think it's ever been done before has it? Is it possible? I think if it is done then it will give some sort of permission to start changing admendment laws. Which can be bad. What next gun control? Voting? FREE SPEECH?

I think illegal immigration's been pushed off the table, and deliberately ignored....'anchor baby' refers to the 14th amendment to the Constitution, and the Supreme Court is going to have to do their homework on this one...

Yes - if neither parent is legally here, then no American status should be given- so that the family can remain together during deportation. It is important for the family to stay together.

The laws should be changed in regards to anchor babies born to illegal immigrants. It is pretty ridiculous that some people steal, using children to do it! Disgraceful.

See how you're answering?who's the hostile? I didn't say that you were racist or offend you at all, I only stated that I've read you're profile and I know for a fact that you're black american, I'm sorry if you felt that as an insult. Pricess How was I rude to you? If I can recall you were the one insulting me and calling me all kind of names, I only told you that I had an education and I didn't want to fight with you, but I guess I should've reported you and post a question showing your vulgar and offensive e-mail, next time I Know what to do.
