Hi, i have a B1/B2 travel visa to the US in my passport, valid till 2016. I am planning to legally change my name and thus renew my passport. (I will till be able to keep the expired passport).

When i travel to the US, can i attach the old passport (with my old name) with the new one? (i am sure it's okay when the names are consistent, yet now it isn't) Do i have to apply for a new visa?

Thank you.

How come that your car can be 'lifted' and taken to a pound as soon as the ticket is issued adding an extra £150 to an already £100 ticket. Surely this could be considered as theft, not from the expense point of view, but the fact that your property is taken. I'd understand if it were in a dangerous location - i.e. bus lane or red-route, but 99% of the time it's not nessasary to move the car, i guess at least not for 24 hours.

Thoughts??

I live in California and just received my "Union Voter Guide." I really wanted to read about their take on Art Olivier for Governor -- that's who I plan to vote for; but in their voter "guide," they only profile Arnold Schwarzenegger and Phil Angelides. Looking at my sample ballot, there are six candidates running -- Schwarzenegger, Olivier, Jordan, Camejo, Noonan and Angelides. Why does my Union ignore the other candidates, like the mainstream media? Is this really "freedom and democracy?"

I am entering into a plea in obeyance agreement to a felony charge against me tomorrow in court. I am being allow to move to another state for work as part of the agreement. I understand a plea in obeyance to mean that I plead guilty, but a felony conviction will not be put on the record unless I violate the terms of the plea in obeyance. My question is, can I get into Canada to visit my fiance? I am assuming that no felony will show when I get to border crossing. Will any record of the felony charge even show up at border crossing?

Rudyard Kipling was once ascribed as saying -It is the 'white man's burden' to rule and care for the people of the world-

Do you believe that Americans have now created there own burden by doing the same as the european imperialists of the past ?

David Kuo is a Christian hired at the W. House as 2nd-in-command of Bush's Office of Faith-Based Initiatives. Kuo has a new book 'Tempting Faith: An Inside Story of Political Seduction'.

There is an excerpt in the current (Oct. 23) issue of Time under the title "Why a Christian in the White House Felt Betrayed."

Kuo describes how "members of the senior staff mocked the plan as the 'f___ing faith-based initiative'.' Or as Kuo describes, "When I heard staff privately deriding evangelical Christians because they were so easily seduced by White House power, I raised an eyebrow but not a ruckus."

Kuo does not blame President Bush himself. Bush seems genuinely surprised when Kuo informs him funding for the faith-based initiative is 1% of promised. Instead, it is the Administration surrounding Bush (exemplified by Karl Rove) who "milk religious groups for votes and them boot them unceremoniously back out to pasture." (Kuo's words.)

My Q: What do evangelicals think of this?

This has been going on since 4/06. YEAH! frustrating! ugh! I can not move, now it is not an option, that builds upon the frustration as you can imagine. I have called the cops, went to court, called the landlord, the cops are frustrated, this gal is in and out of the courts is the impressions I got when going to court. Her it is, she plays her music or TV or she does laundry, no big deal right? but she does this at 11pm, 3am, 1am, midnight, 5am, yeah! frustrated, she actually told one cop, she plays it loud at night because she doesn't want to disturb anyone, funny thing about that is, she plays the cops that she doesn't remember (I highly doubt she is sober) and so luckly more often than not, they are on to her, but more than come out get the complaint info and or tell her to quite it down, which takes them away from doing more important things, they are just as frustrated. Is there ANY legal repercussion that I can do against her, or the landlord? please anyone with REAL advise, HELP!!!

okay. First of all i would like to thank every one for you prompt response.

Though when it comes to visa issues, all of us seems to have very diverse, if not contradictary opinions...

i'd just like to clear a few points raised from prev. ans.

1. Why can you not take both passports? > well i said i lost one...
there's lot of trouble renewing passports abroad

2. if both of those nations re out of european union like some arabian or russian or whatever > some prejudice here?

well not all countries outside the EU are 3RD WORLDS...i hold a US and Canadian passports, both of which would be stamped yet not requiring visa application (so called visa-free) to enter the EU.

No judgement. Just wanna clear some doubts!

My question is quite simple as my passport on hand now has no UK entry stamp. When i enter the EU, will i be questioned abt my previous status in the UK? or as long as i've a visa-free ppt to enter the EU, where i was b4 doesn't matter?

anyone? should i just go ask vis
