All above answers....WRONG.

Both political parties put on a front.

In reality, they are very similar and play a game on the gullible voting public.

One politician sees another of the opposing party like a boxer sees his opponent in the ring.

They know they are there to make money.

The losing boxer makes almost as much money as the winner does.

The loser politician goes on to write a book or become a corporate executive, and will make more (usually) than he or she would while in public office.

Welcome to capitalism.

I think they both have serious issues.

I don't care for either one of them for various reasons, but I certainly don't hate either of them.

I will say this: Most of my Republican friends HATED Clinton for one reason or another, most of the Democrats I know don't hate Bush, they just find him to be an ignoramus who is out of touch. But that is my own personal experience and I am sure that the hatred and vitriol will continue until the cows come home.

Remember, about 50% of the nation will have issues with whoever is the President at any given time. It doesn't really matter what side they are on....they will not be happy until they have a leader they agree with. Human nature.

I don't understand any of the hatred coming from either side. Seems like a big waste of time and energy to me. I have better things and people to hate. LOL

If they don't like the leadership, they should spend less time griping and more time working towards change.

The hate more than likely comes far more from the distate left from the way the elections happened, rather than the results themselves. Moreover, the lack of bipartisanship since 2001 has added to the hatred. I can't answer for why Republicans hated Clinton so much. I won't guess, as I am a Democrat, so I can't provide any insight to that side fairly.

If it is any consolation, at the state level, it is usually far more positive. Despite my very liberal position, one of my favorite Senators when I worked at the Washington State Legislature was Senator Harold Hochstetter. He was the most conservative member, but he was a good man, honest, funny and I sincerely liked him. I also like very much Sec of State Sam Reed, he too is a very honest and good man, and the only Republican I voted for last time.

Adams and Jefferson were political rivals, but they loved each other like brothers. They even died on the same day, July 4th 1826.

That friendship and compassion is sadly missing from our current government, and I think both sides share some of the blame. Obviously I am biased on who is to blame more, but I will put forward the first foot to regain our democratic government to what our founding father's built for us!

Well, so far the Dems haven't tried to start any rumors about GWB being a murderer. Remember Vince Foster? And just tune in to the daily right-wing propaganda shows - they are STILL going on about Clinton!

I think WITH VERY GOOD REASON, anyone - Republican or Democrat or anything - should hate Bush and want him out of office.

It's a little thing called gross incompetence.

Hatred between parties is the nature of bipartisan politics. Thus, Democrats hate Bush the same as Republicans hated Clinton during his term of office.
