Hi, i have a B1/B2 travel visa to the US in my passport, valid till 2016. I am planning to legally change my name and thus renew my passport. (I will till be able to keep the expired passport).

When i travel to the US, can i attach the old passport (with my old name) with the new one? (i am sure it's okay when the names are consistent, yet now it isn't) Do i have to apply for a new visa?

Thank you.

Execute an affidavit that you changed your name and that the name in your passport is the same person. You need not re-apply for another visa.

Why are you changing your name?

If the answer is marriage, there should be no problem. Otherwise, I would spend the 100 bucks and get a new visa.

Instead of getting a new passport, ask to have the old one amended. They basically write in the last passport: The present passport holder legally changed her name to XXXX XXX on XX/XX/XXXX. This would cause no problem as far as the visa is expired.

My optimal suitable advice is to have a attractiveness replace fact interior the passport and then as right now as this expires, you are able to prepare for a sparkling passport interior the nice and comfortable call. in case you will desire to resume the visa, they are going to automaticalley replace the call on the nice and comfortable visa as right now as you have had the synthetic of call call fact finished. My companion basically had tis finished and it become greater desirable decrease priced than using for a sparkling passport and much less subject. want this allows
