Im doin a paper in my 12th grade english class on the war in Iraq and I am originally against but I want to know why I should support it. I support the troops fully but NOT the war.

My husband recieves a VA pension. In Sept we had a change of income. We notified the VA and guess what? They didn't get the fax! So we had to do it again. This time they got it. Well, anyway, they told me it would take a couple of days to see if they got it. In a couple days I called and they told me it could take a couple more weeks to get our money back. In a couple weeks, I called again and they told me a month. So now the month is up and the're telling me it could be December before we see an increase in our/his pension. (he is disabled and believe me we could really use the extra money Yesterday!)
Ok, I know the military isn't known for making quick decisions, but my question to you is this:
Does it really take that long? Or am I getting the royal run around?

My husband just started a new job and his hourly job wage was set at $12.00 an hour. His boss made a rule that if you are late to work then your hourly wage for the pay period (two weeks) will be the federal minimum wage. I feel that the agreed upon rate is a verbal contract and the boss has broken that contract. Although I must admit, it is a great insentive not the be late for work. I'm wondering if its legal to cut a persons wages in this manor.

2 cottages are served by an unadopted, unmade road (cul de sac) at the main road end of this dirt road & to one side of it is a bungalow. New owners of this have started to build a new wall at the side of the bungalow & parallel to the dirt road thus greatly reducing it's width so that 2 vehicles cannot pass. Are their actions illegal & if so what may I do now to prevent them from building it? We cannot find any ref. to the dirt road in deeds etc. but both cottages have used it as access for many years, probably over a 100yrs.

If by some accident you are pulled of the street tomorrow and the government claims that you are not a citizen and an enemy combatant, and you are tranferred to a prison in Egypt without anyone in your family being notified.
How would you prove your innocence? Please be specific on how you would do this under the new law. How would you contact a lawyer from the Egyptian jail and how would you get access to what you would need to prove that you ARE a US citizen and not a foreign enemy combatant?

Assuming that the Democrats take the House in November, is it a lock that Nancy Pelosi will become Speaker? I think that she has the potential to alienate the center and guarantee a GOP resurgence in 2008 that might win them the Congress and the White House again.
