Nearly every educated person has to agree that Mexico, as a country, has failed miserably. There really is no good reason for the country of Mexico to even exist any more. They cannot provide their people healthcare, jobs, or welfare. Their science, technology and military is minimal. They cannot even develop a plumbing system that allows for flushing toilet paper into the system without clogging the works. The government is entirely ineffective and the police force is among the most corrupt on the planet.

But the question is...why? Why has Mexico failed so miserably? They have rich natural resources, plenty of people, vast lands, and national pride. Yet in every challenge a nation faces, Mexico has proven to be a failure. I have heard students ask this question all the time and I would be curious to hear what others think about this dilemma. Even when Mexico owned land that would later be part of the U. S., they never accomplished anything worth while with it. Why?

what do you think North Korea is really up to?
The US has not been doing anything to them. Leaving them alone.
Is that what they are doing? Wants the US to give them billions in aid?
Their people are starving!! You have seen the videos and pictures. starving in the street.

So why do you think N. Korea is doing all of this?

I'm NOT trying to offend or provoke anyone. I just thought this question would be interesting. Everyone is always pointing out the things that the US does wrong so what would happen if the US was gone? I am not a supporter of Bush or this war and I don't deny that the United States...or rather it's leaders, have done some things in the present and the past that are horrible and shameful. I also don't deny the fact that the US has done a ton of good as well. Truth is nobody is ever going to be totally satisfied with any single decision made by any person. We aren't the first ones to go to war and we definitely wont be the last. This isn't the first war that people don't agree with and it won't be the last.

......or do we continue to embrace it under its most commonly referred to labeling. Perhaps it will never lose its meaning, this War on Terror, but for the Religious Right, it may have more impact. In fact it may work on both sides of the house as well as the middle. Because there is Good and there is Evil. Sometimes if we look at the same situation in more ways than one, we broaden our perspctive..
we see
good and we see evil.....and if we think deeply enough, we can see the EVIL within ourselves, our govenment, our country, our world. But stop. Yes. We see the evil in ourselves and our government....our country. And its a lot easier to see the EVIL in oneself and our government and our country than it is to see the TERROR within us......

Henceforth I will find it far easier to couple the Axis of Evil with the War on Evil.......It is so much better understood that way...and it serves to explain that evil emanates from many different contributors, sometimes from even our own..

Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven’t been sharing that idea with us

Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a FELONY to be an illegal alien in Mexico

The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens – and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Población, or General Law on Population, spells out specifically the country’s immigration policy.

If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.

I'm beyond frustrated with all the political party bashing. Can't we just agree that both parties have bad people in them and both parties have policies we don't all necessarily agree with?

Will we ever be able to banned together as Americans and do what is best for our country despite which side of the fence we're sitting on?

Sometimes I think it's not our emenies with their nuclear weapons that's going to bring about our demise, but the fact that we can't seem to banned together as a nation.

Instead of coming up with solutions we're way to busy playing the blame game. Give a an American with good leadership skills and I'll vote for him regardless of which party he is on. Am I alone?

It's amazing how I'm seeing it happen, though the UN has known, for years about the horrors going on in North Korea thanks to South Korean refugees stories and hidden camara footage that has been out for YEARS,
Far left Liberals (only the misinformed ones) are questioning that it might not be that bad since it's on the wrong side of America.
So, no matter how much you torture your people, if you explode nuclear weapons, not let the UN relief workers in to help your people, have a totalitarian gangster dictator, you will be on their side automatically because Bush says they are bad?

wow, that takes just about no brains. Congratulations.

a limited amount of tobacco, cigarettes or spirits, when companies like Marks and Spencer can purchase item of clothing from places like China, import them and sell them to us at extortionate prices. Why can"t I take a ship to say Gibralter and purchase 250,000 packs of Old Holborn [price there £1.65/pack] Import them, pay 17.5% VAT and then legally sell them. even with the VAT the cost per pack would be well below the cost of £10/pack in our shops. Is it a case of one rule for business and another for the average citizen. Even from EU Countries the Vatman puts a limit on the amount you can bring back. This must be wrong, but then again I suppose Gordon needs the money?
