Why does the U.S., supposed leader of the free world and "creator of democracy around the world" have the poorest voter turnout?

At least in the national elections, shouldn't it be mandatory or face a fine?

After the lies that lead to the Iraq War, tax cuts , huge deficits, no contract bids, torture, wiretapping, hurricane Katrina. New facts coming out that the CIA warned Condi Rice, Rumsfield of an imminent Al-Quaeda attack and nothing was done. No exit strategy for Iraq, the fact that we are more in danger from terrorisim than before this war. The fact that we are being beaten in Afghanistan. The newest republican strategy is to let the Taliban back in power, what next Saddam being reinstated. Even with all of this information certain brain dead morons will still say Dumya is "tough on terrorisim" or that we need to "stay the course". How do you convince an idiot to pull his hand out of the fire???

With the buildup and preparations being made to go to war with Iran, do you think, esp. asking anyone affiliated with the military, that more military people will decide to go Awol in greater numbers than from the Iraq war? If you are against these wars as I am, do you not think that our own military personnel taking a stand against preemptive wars speaks louder than anyone? http://informationclearinghouse.info/article15212.htm,and http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/082806J.shtml

Those we sent to clean up Washington have turned out to be just as bad if not worse than the Democrat-majority we tossed out.

What's really maddening today is that most political commentators say the Dems are mpw stripped down to being little more than their core leftist/marxist/socialistic True Believers.

THEREFORE, with a radical-left Dem Party and a corrupt Repub Party to choose from, what the HECK DO WE DO NOW????????

Well?

I have been hearing that I have to wait for my DD-214 to file. Others have said to hurry up and get it in (while in service) because it takes so long to process. I've checked the VA websites, and other websites, and have found nothing. I'm currently on terminal leave, but I would like to get it taken care of ASAP. Thanks!

Bush has had 5 YEARS to capture Osama bin Laden, but instead he has started a war that was based on a lie and captured a dictator who, although he was brutal, was in no way connected to the 9/11 attacks, the ostensible reason for the so-called "War on Terror".

Even after they have voted for their representitive, they still think they should decide every issue themselves and which leaders they will follow. If they continue to abuse free speech people will want to limit free speech to deprive our enemies of the propaganda Libs. supply to them so generously.

"Have you noticed the military flag on police officers' sleeves?
Most people may think nothing or disregard the significance of the military flag on a police officer's sleeve. However, let's examine just what this means. For starters...

Each military courtroom Any courtroom that displays these military flags behind the Judge is a military courtroom. You are under military law and not constitutional law, or common law, or civil law, or statute law.

According to Army Regulations, (AR 840-10, Oct. 1, 1979.) "the Flag is trimmed on three sides with Fringe of Gold, 2 1/2 inches wide," and that, "such flags are flown indoors, ONLY in military courtrooms." And that the Gold Fringed Flag is not to be carried by anyone except units of the United States Army, and the United States Army division associations."

To start with let's go back to a history lesson on Who is Running America?"

I am a 15yo male from who is going to Denver next week to see a friend who is in the hospital due to illness. I am in the process of getting legal emancipation from my parents due to financial reasons. I have been in contact with a lady who I met over the net who wants to concieve a child and is willing to meet me for such. She is in her early 30's. CO state law says that age of consent is 15yo as long as the actor is more than 10yrs older than the victim. I don't consider myself as a victim. Is it still legal for she and I to have sex or not? If the shoe was on the other foot and I was a 15yo girl I know the answer would be an overwhelming "no".

Before anybody gets their knickers all bunched up, I work in a high school with disabled students. How do they factor into this, many of these students are unable to take this test, which then lowers funding, as we all know that is what the standardized testing is for. Then there are some students who meet the criteria for the testing, have to take it, and get very low scores which in turn, lowers the funding the school can get. This all has a very bad backlash on the treatment these students get, as administration sees them as nothing but a liability, when they are really entitled to the best education we can give them. But education these days is centered on passing the damn standardized tests. Doesn't this seem extremely unfair and detrimental to the welfare of these students, who are surely being left behind?

Dihydrogen Monoxide - The Truth
The Truth about DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE
Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is perhaps the single most prevalent of all chemicals that can be dangerous to human life. Despite this truth, most people are not unduly concerned about the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide. Governments, civic leaders, corporations, military organizations, and citizens in every walk of life seem to either be ignorant of or shrug off the truth about Dihydrogen Monoxide as not being applicable to them. This concerns us.
