Remember the 90's? Gas Prices dropped to below a $1 per gallon and Government Surplus and No Inflation and Increased Middle Class Wages. Remember having more dollars left over to contribute to your IRA? Remember the boom in jobs before they were shipped overseas?

On my local news a man recieved 125 years for a car chase that injured a state trooper but I saw where a man recieved less time 40 years for killing his girlfriend. How is this? I see this often.

Who in their right mind decided to either start or make it law that in almost every political advertisement that the canadite(sp) had to say at the end of the message "I approve this message"? Really it gets quite old and boring but I suppose there is a case to be made for the canadites actually approving the messages that are put on the air so that other messages are not mistaken for being linked to a certain canadites views. I just get tired of hearing it because to me its like DUH I know you approve the message!

There are far more deaths caused in in UK and USA by gangs, thugs, criminal, yobs etc than by terrorists. Yet the government goes invading countries to tackle "terrorism" without much explanation to us and despite our protests, using OUR tax money when it could be handling the problem at home and making it better. I think i have more chance of getting stabbed and killed by a yob trying to steal my mobile than a terroist bombing me. Is the government dumb, blind or just careless?

"The American people get the government they deserve."

Isn't that true, since we vote? Who do we blame if we make a bad choice, other than ourselves?

Are there any other general statements we could all agree on?

Colorado resident Stephen Howard was arrested just before Father's Day for telling Dick Cheney that he opposed the war.

Cheney was walking through a mall shaking hands and after Howard told Cheney that the war is abhorrant, and Cheney's secret service later arrested the man in front of his son. The traumatized boy lost his voice. Weeks later, Cheney's Secret Service dropped the charges. Should the man bring a civil suit?

This is disgusting….neocons desperately trying to gain political advantage by trying to blur the lines between homosexuality and pedophilia even though society has moved on from that sick, twisted connection. There have been several Republicans public figures who have claimed this is a gay problem...I'm just curious who agrees. Don't be shy, I'm asking that all party supporters answer this one. Please just be calm and not hateful so the question doesn't get removed and I can see your answers. ;)
