Because I want your money to make Haliburton more profitable. Voting Independent doesn't do that does it now.

I agree with justme however that wasn't your question. Why would independents not be crooks? There is no answer. The Rep and Dem get all the media time so for many they don't really know other candidates. Its hard to vote for someone you don't know or understand. People also like to go with a winner and independents DONT win! Its really not a matter of Dem and Rep being crooks I am certain many independents are as well they just don't win elections and get no media time. Best approach is vote for person (not party) that best supports your own views. Now every candidate will NOT support all your ideas so research things. Check their voting records (many don't) doesn't matter what they say they will do or support if their voting records says otherwise they are lieing! Don't trust the media to give you the info you need on your choice either they are bias! Its up to each person to do their own research (its not hard) so they can choose the candidate that best supports their own ideas! Note to all not all Dem or Rep are crooks but just and many % wise independents are as well. do your homework and make wise choices! I said as to NOT support any side or party so I could give a unbiased answer.

I think that people don't vote independant because they believe that the independant person won't get elected, so they vote for the 'electable' person. I personally am going to vote against most Dems and Repubs in the next election. There are a few that are worth while, but not many.

Because Independents vary so much that you can't create a cohesive group that will be able to stand up to Dems or Repubs. Countries that use third parties don't do too well with "coalition" governments, it is just another word for governments that get very little done. So our system stinks, but it is one of the better ones. My opinion is that people should not just vote for dems or reps, but rather on the merits of the individuals that are running. That sends a message to the two parties that they had better select better people rather than just party liners.

Because they would rather vote for the person they think would be best for the office. NO, we do not ALL agree that ALL politicians are crooks or even that ALL politicians are any one thing.

All politicians are crooks. That means Libertarian, Independent, Constitution, Green, Socialist, etc. So I'll just stick with the party that best reflects my prioritized political beliefs, thanks.

People do, just not enough to actually win a seat. Indy votes can, however, affect the outcome of an election.
