Under the u.s constitution, no foreign person may become president of our nation unless he/she becomes a u.s citizen and lives here for 14 years. Now, my question is, for a person to be president, must he/she serve in the u.s.a armed forces?

I read an article today online that quoted the Mexican government saying the fence is offensive, shameful, and ill concieved. Our country has the right to protect its borders. How is that shameful?

That is an interview with one of them, if you want to see it. I personally think that they are crazy, they basically believe that a person deserves to get punished, if anything happens to them. Like, if i am walking down the street, on my way back from school, and a car swerves and hits me, and breaks my legs, that i deserved it. That is just weird

I live in Orange County, CA. They have re-sold the naming rights: the "Arrowhead Pond" (home of the NHL Ducks) has been renamed the "Honda Center". The signage on the stadium itself has been changed -- but the directional road signs have not. I guess the freeway signs are the domain of CalTrans, and the signs on the surface streets are the domain of the city of Anaheim. But who pays the true costs of replacing these road signs. Do the taxpayers pay the cost, or does the facility have to pay the municipal entity? Anyone with civil service experience want to chime in?

I am a Dutchman looking for dependable poll data on the public opninion of the American people regarding the issue of more restrictive gun control laws. I did some search on Internet and found a lot of related articles, but no recent data (the latest poll I found was one by USA Weekend magazine July 4 1999). I am aware that public opinion will fluctuate quite a lot after incidents like the Columbine highschool massacre and the recent Amish killings. I assume however that there are sufficient poll data available to get a feeling on the general opinion of the American people on this important issue. Probably these data are readily available and I did not search very well until now. Who can help to find the relevant sources?

If there was a White Police Officers Association there would be riots in the streets.

I'm 36 years old and American. I grew up during the Cold War, being taught that Communism was bad and evil. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the day The Wall went down.

What's strange is, all they ever taught us in school, as well as at home - was simply that Communism was bad and evil.

I don't recall anyone ever teaching us, as children, thorough details as to *WHY* Communism was bad and evil. Did anyone ever teach you the WHYs of Communism being bad and evil? The closest thing to a "why" we were ever taught was that it was "un-American." Hmm. Ok. That doesn't tell us squat. Sushi is un-American, but that doesn't make it bad and evil. If Communism is bad and evil, I think children should be taught WHY it so.

I don't support Communism. I just find it strange that us Gen X'ers weren't educated very well in this area. Maybe it was just my schools, or was it like this at schools everywhere?

They are intimidating the west to silence and it should not be accepted. None of the US papers have dared to post the cartoons! I find it extemely hypocritical of the US Newspapers not to express the freedom of religion for fear of reprisal from the Muslim world!

Reds staters are anti free speech. The combination of Jesus saying to the soldiers "Do harm to no man" and the Reds-staters Desire to torture is to much for them.

Either Jesus or Bush is right and Reds are loyal to Dubya
