I live in Orange County, CA. They have re-sold the naming rights: the "Arrowhead Pond" (home of the NHL Ducks) has been renamed the "Honda Center". The signage on the stadium itself has been changed -- but the directional road signs have not. I guess the freeway signs are the domain of CalTrans, and the signs on the surface streets are the domain of the city of Anaheim. But who pays the true costs of replacing these road signs. Do the taxpayers pay the cost, or does the facility have to pay the municipal entity? Anyone with civil service experience want to chime in?

No matter how you cut it the taxpayer pays. Government whether local, state or federal has no money other than yours. The facility if not public, pays for it with money taken from admissions, so you still pay.

If the county negotiated the naming rights correctly, the cost of the directional signs should've been paid for by the corporate sponsor. This should be a matter of public record - check with your locally elected official.

depends on the agreement between the city and the property owners. Sometimes the Tax payer foots the bill, sometimes the owner. Usualy they split the cost.
