If you would have a visa to look freely for work in the UK, and in Canada, which country would you go? where do you think it is easier to live and to buy a house?

Canada. It's a much bigger country, so there's less pricing pressure on land and housing, and plenty of job opportunities. I love England, but out of the two I'd live in Canada any day. As long as you don't mind cold weather...:)

Great question and I've been to both but never looked for work. England is expensive but if you got money it's okay. If you are not rich Canada would be a better choice as things are a lot cheaper. Canada has some funny laws but lacks the man power to enforce most so if you like freedom or liberty Canada is a better choice. Not that England is anywhere near as intrusive as the USA into your life but Canada has such few people. With 3 million people in jail, the USA is the last place you would want to live if you are seeking freedom.

Both countries have their advantages, although I would love to emigrate to the UK, if I wasn't already Canadian I would move there. Canada's economy is really good right now, so housing is expensive to purchase, but it would depend on location. Alberta is in the middle of a huge shortage of qualified workers and housing is more affordable than Ontario

As badly as I dislike Canada, if I had to choose between Canada and Great Britain, I'd choose canada. The tax base in England is horrific, and there's more opportunity for any given profession in Canada!

After the next house price crash in the UK shortly you will be able to pick up property at rock bottom prices, at the moment they are at the top of the cycle so Canada anytime v. soon.
Unless your mother is Canadian and your father is English or European visas are v. difficult to get for Americans.

As an American who immigrated to Canada, I would say without a doubt try to go to the USA. I will be glad to send you info.

Canada is not all free the medical is not all free like they say. Ont you pay copays now ditto for BC. Plus it does not cover eye, therapy and dental or meds. The medical services are horrible. The free services for the low income and disabled and elderly in the US are much better than Canada'.

You could be misdx in a dr office or die waiting for surgery.

try to see about applying for a work permit, study permit or get an employer to sponsor you in the USA. the Immigrant quality of life is better in the USA.

It depends on where you are immigrating from. For sure the UK is way more expensive (roughly 2X the cost for anything). Canada has more freedoms (especially privacy), space and geography to select from. Alberta is having an economic boom while the rest of the country is pretty flat (economically).
