Here's an idea:

If we were to deport all the ILLEGAL aliens here, that might free up millions of spots for the LEGAL immigrants who want to come here and become good law-abiding American citizens.

The bill passed but, why did these people vote against it? Do they not want you to know how they are spending your money?

Primarily all Democrats, is this more tax and steal your money for pork?

see the whole list http://www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/votes/?votenum=449&chamber=H&congress=1092&printer=1

What is his worst mistake? If any? Or are there too many to list?

If you where not, what was your 'Kennedy moment'?

Our nation was founded on Christian principals and a code of conduct toward all people. Recently our way of life has been under attack, under these circumstances is it now justifiable to deprive people of their liberty in secret prisons and use torture as a means of questioning? Have we oversteped our principals or are we simply defending ourselves?

At my high school, one kid tried to kill me by punching me in the temple, then my friends made fun of me for it.. I had no real friends, just some kids who were a little less obnoxious than others. The only kids who were doing anything were sitting on the railroad tracks burning themselves with cigarettes, and smoking crack. One of these kids killed a 4 year old boy and mutilated his dead body, and no one else cared. No one dated or hung out. Was this normal? Sorry to post in politics, but I didn't get answers elsewhere.

With the consistent corruptness of the two main parties, why are people not moving and pushing the third party vote? Libertarians offer the best of what both the donkey and the elephant offer (smaller government/less taxes and increased personal rights), so why do we settle for those rich and corrupt enough to gain power in the main two (corporate) parties?

Just prior to the French Revolution, Queen Marie Antoinette famously asked why the poor were rioting. According to the story she was told "Because they have no bread"

To which she replied "Then let them eat cake!"

This showed how out of touch she was with the realities of life of the populace, who of course were less likely to have cake, a luxury, than bread.

When the politicians say 'these are jobs Americans won't do', are they just demonstrating how out of touch they are with what Americans do daily to earn a living?

And isn't that a problem in and of itself?

Our leaders keep telling us that another terrorist attack can not be prevented. Whistleblowers keep on exposing flaws in our defenses against terrorism, corruption and general incompetance in both our political and military leaders. Its the known goal of the terrorists to kill US civilians, so why aren't there more terrorist attempts?

I totally understand the compromise in terms of what it was and all. YET, WHY DID the government choose 3/5? Why did they decide a slave was 3/5's of a person? I dont need a definition, just WHY they decided to use 3/5 as the number. WHY NOT 7/8? 3/4? 4/6? Thanks.

Everyone has heard the claim that Illegal Immigrants do jobs that Americans won't do. I say this statement doesn't make sense when jobless and homeless Americans sleep in our streets every night and stand in soup lines every day for their next meal, never accomplishing anything, never growing as a person with honor again.
Why not fill these jobs with these Welfare receipients expecting them to earn their Welfare check, therefore were not just handing out money, were actually getting a return on our investment and these people can restore some of their dignity and return to the workforce. It would actually be therapeutic for them to earn something wouldn't it?

Well, it IS Friday, so I'm taking a short break from the usual stuff ... this is interesting though:

U.S. statistics for the Year 1906 :

The average life expectancy in the U.S. was 47 years.
Only 14 percent of the homes in the U.S. had a bathtub.
Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.
A three-minute call from Denver to New York City cost eleven dollars.
There were only 8,000 cars in the U.S., and only 144 miles of paved roads.
The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.
Alabama, Mississippi, Iowa, and Tennessee were each more heavily populated than California.
With a mere 1.4 million people, California was only the 21st most populous state in the Union.
The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower!
The average wage in the U.S. was 22 cents per hour.
The average U.S. worker made between $200 and $400 per year
