Just prior to the French Revolution, Queen Marie Antoinette famously asked why the poor were rioting. According to the story she was told "Because they have no bread"
To which she replied "Then let them eat cake!"
This showed how out of touch she was with the realities of life of the populace, who of course were less likely to have cake, a luxury, than bread.
When the politicians say 'these are jobs Americans won't do', are they just demonstrating how out of touch they are with what Americans do daily to earn a living?
And isn't that a problem in and of itself?

just browsen, they came legally is why it is different and has nothing to do with being white. Black, brown and oriental people who came legally are welcome as well. We have limits of poor immigrants because we subsidize the cost of education and health care for poor people so each such person is an additional cost to us and drain on our schools and services. That is why EVERY country limits how many poor immigrants can come. It is money and education, not race, that makes the difference.

prima you are assuming trhat every single American is in a position to choose a better job. That is exactly what I meant about being out of touch with reality.

I agree politicians are out of touch with reality. Usually politicians work with the upper or middle class citizen. They have no ideal what the lower class does or how they live. Why worry about the common citizen when you think you are better than them.

I don't think so. I think that when they say "These are jobs Americans won't do" they mean it. If Americans would do them, there wouldn't be a need for companies to bring in immigrants. Who would you rather hire, a person who couldn't speak English very well or someone who spoke fluently. Maybe the Americans wouldn't do a job that pays what some of the immigrants are being paid, but that is still suggesting that the American wouldn't do that job at the price the market is paying.

They are jobs most Americans won't do at least not forever.
Jobs most immigrants have :
restaurant, construction , house cleaning , lawn care.
These jobs are physically demanding, on your feet 24/7 , prone to injuries . Yes people don't want to do these jobs especially older people. People who need jobs that are able to provide ENOUGH for their families. Getting hurt on the job or being unable to work means lost $$$ , lost food . You don't work you don't eat.
These people are not taking much of anything you would want. Its like the Easter jelly bean bowl once it gets picked cleaned and only the licorice is left nobody wants any.
Most politicians are crooks. Its in the job description.

You have to ask yourself why the will of the American people holds so little power with our politicians....
Then you have to ask yourself, why are they courting countries like mexico?
Clearly there is a personal agenda going on for many of our politicians....if it is a rush running the United States of America, what a bigger rush it would be to control all of the Americas....
Most people have a desire for more money....but our politicians hunger for more power....and are willingly selling us out for their own political aspirations.
The guillotine certainly leveled the playing field for the French...perhaps our politicians would do well to understand the mistakes of the past and vow not to repeat them.....

Where do you work? Where do your friends work? Why did your ancestors come from Europe? Why were they allowed to get jobs? Why don't you go back? Is it because you are white that somehow you are different? Isn't that a little elitist on your part?
Edit: OK, I get your point except that when there was mass immigration back then, there was also expedited immigration allowances...the whole Ellis Isle thing? They needed the immigrants to work in the factories...sound familiar?

They're not saying "let them eat cake."
They're saying "get off welfare, get out of your trailers and get a job." If you put the welfare sponges to work there will be less jobs for the illegals.
