At my high school, one kid tried to kill me by punching me in the temple, then my friends made fun of me for it.. I had no real friends, just some kids who were a little less obnoxious than others. The only kids who were doing anything were sitting on the railroad tracks burning themselves with cigarettes, and smoking crack. One of these kids killed a 4 year old boy and mutilated his dead body, and no one else cared. No one dated or hung out. Was this normal? Sorry to post in politics, but I didn't get answers elsewhere.

Somebody (it's always the girls) I am better looking, better at soccer, smarter and funnier than all of those other people, but they didn't give a f*ck, they were sucidal death-metal heads. That is why I had no friends.

Oh that is so SAD but I really believe it is happening...Please write a letter to the superintendant of schools, the school board, the mayor, and the Governor ...Tell them what is going on /...ask them how they would advise you to live safely...how would they recommend you be safe at school? Also take a walk to the youth bureau of the Police station and tell them you are scared to go to school because of this...Someone will help you....Schools are suppose to be nuturing and safe...not hell holes for terror..!!
My High School was a fun place to go, years ago, nobody took dope or smoked weed and most of the parents & teachers cared about the kids

I'm so sorry you went through this. I wish your school would have been like mine. It was a 3-story wooden building in a very quiet little town. Sort of like Mayberry. :) Everyone was very friendly, even though we had our own special friends.

There were no vending machines for food... we ate home-cooked meals (cooked by three great ladies in the school cafeteria), brought our own or ate at the little sandwich shop across from the school.

The girls looked like girls- they wore dresses or skirts and blouses or sweaters, and saddle oxfords! Sneakers were worn only in the gymnasium in Physical Ed class. The boys wore casual shirts and trousers.

The only "weapons" that were used were paper wads. (Well, once a boy got a few days vacation for lighting a firecracker and rolling it up the aisle and it landed behind our English teacher, who jumped about a foot off the floor). :)

Spelling and grammar were required and we were expected to do it right. (Have you noticed the spelling and grammar used by most youngsters/people today?)

If a student misbehaved, he/she was reprimanded and was given a note to be returned the next day with the parents signature. Believe it or not, no lawsuits were filed.

There were no school closings due to bad weather. Twelve miles on a bus, rain, snow or shine. No snow days to make up. School year was from the last week of August to the second week of May.

We were given homework... even on Fridays. It was a rare treat not to have homework on weekends. (I carried at least six books home almost every day- no backpacks back then!).

When we got home from school, our parents were there.

Oh, my high school was great. I still miss the homemade free food. There was the usual drunken binges for 14 year olds, and of course a lot of people smoked, and some even dated.
I was pretty much on speaking terms with everyone, and friends with alot of people. Did not do better than above average in school, but then again I never did any homework.
But the food was the best. Mm...

um.....no my school was a little more peaceful. But then again when I was in school the teachers had control. They could hit you with a paddle, and if you got in trouble in school, then sent a note home and you got it even worse at home. Different times. We were more focused on that wacky education thing.

Sounds like the typical high school. My high school was all work and no fun. Drugs were common and a lame fistfight broke out everyday. It was pathetic.
