It appears there are federal regulations which state a minor can not hold stock in a publicly traded company....but, can they hold stock in their own name if it is not a publicly traded company regulated by the SEC?

As an American, I find this level of thinking to be absolutely counter-productive and barbaric!

Are we AMERICANS or are we Nazis?

Why must we sink to the level of our enemies in order to beat them?

Has anyone REALLY thought about what will happen if this continues? What the consequences and ramifications will be for us as a whole?

Or do we simply not care anymore about what this nation was built and bled upon?

(I want some intelligent answers, not the usual "con vs. lib" garbage.)

Everyone keeps refeering to Dog as a hero for capturing Andrew Luster but what everyone doesn`t seem to understand is that there was a personal gain for Dog .Andrew Luster was out on bail for $1 million Dog would have gotten a large percentage of that bail amount which would have totaled $250,000.But due to the fact he captured Luster illegally he was told he was not intitled to the money. He tried to fight that decision in a California court but the judge ruled that he was not given authority to go to Mexico and capture Andrew Luster therefore he was not intitled to any of the money.Who the judge did rule on to get a portion of that money was the women that Luster raped. Now I`m not saying that Dog was wrong for expecting his percentage for capturing Luster after all he is a bounty hunter and thats what they do.But for him to be considered a hero for this is wrong hero`s do not do things for a personal gain and even though he didn`t get the money that was his intentions.

Let's say I befriend a law enforcement official, and during some off-duty time the two of us go clubbing. And during that off-duty time, s/he sees a fight break out or notices somebody smoking pot or whatever. Is s/he obligated to act, and if so, how? Is s/he required to step in on the situation, like paramedics are required to stop and render aid, even when not on duty? Is s/he merely required to report the incident via phone so a co-worker can handle it? In the case of a fight, is s/he allowed to just blow it off as drunk people getting stupid? (I don't expect s/he would be allowed to just "blow off" possession of an illegal substance.)

Answers based off direct personal experience (from either end! ;) are preferred, but anything reasonably intelligent is welcome.

This team will lead the Republicans to victory in 2008!

Just because Rush is a 5 time divorcee and a drug abuser, it shouldn't hurt our chances. Newt is the the champion of the poor, and the most respected conservative in America!

What do you think fellow Republicans...a dream team?

what?

it's like criticizing someone for trying to do something, when you have no care to even attempt to do anything about it yourself?

now I'm not going to sit here and say "dems have all the answers" but at least they try...

we could go back and forth about the effectiveness of welfare, which I feel has a place, but needs reform... but beyond that many dems promote education policies to help people get a college degree through loans and grants... to make themselves better...

and I'm not saying the government should do everything for people, but I see nothing wrong with helping someone out that's willing to help themself...

many republicans probably share this view, but it seems like you don't hear about it a lot... and in the past 6 years, tuition has skyrocketed, grants are harder to get and school loans have a higher intrest rate than before...

There used to be rulings made that someone could not be forcibly removed from a church or holy building, or be killed on sanctified ground, even where they were being arrested.
Does this rule still exist? Could I use it as a legitamate means of escaping arrest?

The statement came as Abbas' moderate Fatah faction struggles to win agreement from the governing Hamas to recognize Israel in negotiations to form a national unity government. The militant Islamic group Hamas won elections in January and has refused to recognize Israel, end violence and honor past agreements with Israel.

Abbas told the U.N. General Assembly's annual ministerial meeting Thursday that he has recently sought to establish a government of national unity "that is consistent with international and Arab legitimacy" and that responds to the demands of the key parties promoting Mideast peace - recognition, ending violence and honoring past agreements.

What do you think?

My co-worker drives me and him to jobs sometimes.

My boss requires us to carpool and when my co-worker drives sometimes he smokes pot.

He also says he keeps some in his glovebox.

I have never done any drugs, I have never even smoked a cigarette, but I don't complain about his pot smoking because we are in his car.

If we got pulled over and he was caught smoking pot, would I be arrested too?

If we got pulled over and his vehicle was searched and pot was found, would I be arrested too?

My wife found out about my co-worker and she is pissed. She threated to tell my boss because my co-worker smokes pot on company time.

Please help!

This has to do with the Pope's quote from a medieval text. British government and other nations will now do something about the threats from Islam & Islamism. Bin Laden is calling for all muslims to leave US, esp. N.Y. and Wash., D.C. Something serious might be in the works. Should the Islamism be outlawed in America? Is their religion (if you can call it that) the real terriorist? No complaints about the US Muslims.
