That would depend largely upon what you mean by hegemony. As Plato outlines in 'The Republic' all things have three forms, the idea, the construction, and the artist's reconstruction.

So Chavez is the new poster boy for the left, before you start bowing at his alter , did you know that he said" his only regret was that he did not get chance to meet with Noam Chomsky before he died" which would come as a big surprise to Mr. Chomsky who is very much alive at 70. Yes Chavez is a real genius he doesn't even no what the word ALIVE means.

I do. Most democrats do....because we read. All it takes is the willingness to disagree with the Republican party. When you start looking at the Republican Party with open eyes, these types of words naturally come up. Hegemony, Fascism, Corporatism, Oligarchy, and many other such words that are needed to properly define the Republican Party.
It's not a culture of life that they are creating...it's a culture of death!
