What Is the FBI? The FBI is the principal investigative arm of the United States Department of Justice. It has the authority and responsibility to investigate specific crimes, primarily in the United States, assigned to it by the Justice Department. The FBI is also tasked with providing other law enforcement agencies with cooperative services, such as fingerprint identification and validation, laboratory examinations. The FBI is the keeper of the master files on citizens of the United States as well as some others. The focus of the FBI is prioritized. The order is: National and economic security as first-tier investigations; Criminal enterprises and public integrity as the second-tier; and, Crimes against individuals and property as third-tier priority. The main areas of investigation are:
Civil rights
Counter-terrorism - Prevent, disrupt and defeat terrorists operations before they occur.
Foreign counter-intelligence - Identify, prevent and defeat intelligence operations conducted by any foreign power within the United States or against certain U.S. Interest abroad.
Organized crime/drugs
Violent crimes and major offenders
Financial crime.
All Federal criminal violations not specifically assigned by Congress to another federal agency.
Create an effective and ongoing deterrent designed to prevent criminal conspiracies from defrauding major U.S. Industries and the U.S. Government. Systematic efforts to defraud medical insurance programs was listed as one such area of concern.

The F.B.I. Or Federal Bureau of Investigation investigates any and all federal crimes. Kidnapping, murder, bank robbery, high level larceny child porn, child slavery, child molestation, crimes against children, missing persons, abductions, improper disposal of human remains etc.......
