We should have fenced it in 1950. Bit late in the game now.

The House will pass the border fence initiative. The Senate will HAVE to play along (esp. the Republicans in close races). And then we can worry about assimilation later. As soon as you start prosecuting employers of illegals, the jobs will dry up, and you won't deport millions, they'll manage to leave on their own.

There already is a fence in some places. These people are taking nothing from you. All of the services they receive you yourself could receive if god forbid you ever had to. You never know when you could fall ill with cancer and be unable to work. Who would provide for your family if you were the sole provider? You have your situation and other people have theirs. That is what socialism is , thinking about other people instead of yourself all of the time.

The immigration problem has been around FOREVER. In 1986 many illegal immigrants of Latin origin were granted amnesty. In the 1980s the country was doing well economically.
We could afford them. Now that we are in a recession , politicians are looking to get a vote by blaming the illegals for all of the country's problems. This is akin to Hitler's blaming the Jews for all of Germany's problems during the depression.

11 million people, they make it sound like a huge number. There are 299,803,510 people in the united states total. Not such a big number when you put it against the total. The population going to grow anyway. There are simply too many people and not enough resources.

Mr. Curious said it, and I agree. A wall is absolutely needed (or a very strong, inpenetrable fence) Not only to deter illegal invaders, but to thwart the possibility of terrorists entering via the border. It might not stop them all but it sure would cut it down from an uncontrolled flood to a trickle.

I feel the mexican border should be fenced off. There have been reports of drug running by way of mexico. Tunnel(s) discovered for drug running.
I have no problem with mexicans comming to the USA, just to it legally.
NO politician should be elected or re-elected using the fact he/she is against building the fence.

If they want to come here and enter through the front door the legal way thats ok. Sneaking in is wrong and should be treated that way. If you or I break the law we are punished. So the same should be expected of any one trying to break into my house OR MY COUNTRY.

We need to stop the flow. If you have a leak in your basement and it floods you need to fix the leak before you pump the water out of the basement. You dont pump out the water then fix the leak or you still have to pump out the basement.

Yes. A fifteen-foot tall metal fence with razor wire all along it. Then to make sure no illegal Mexicans mess with it, place military snipers every 500 yards in forty-foot high towers with instructions to shoot anyone who attempts to scale it. After about 300 or 400 deaths even the Mexicans would get the message. Within the first year America would save about $8,000,000,000 in saved welfare and crime fighting costs and that money could go to paying for the fence, paying the snipers, buying ammunition, and building prisons to house the illegal Mexicans already committing crimes in America. Within 10 years we would save about $80 billion dollars in welfare costs. That money could be used to build airplanes to fly illegal Mexicans back to their own Garden of Eden they are so proud of, land, boot them onto their own soil, fly back and reload. Just think, fifty military jets, transporting 500 illegal Mexicans every four hours back to Mexico, and we could have our country cleaned up within fifteen years. Then they can enjoy their own paradise they've created, hang their pinatas, play their mariachi music, and scream "Viva la Rosa" all they want.

I am going to NOT vote for any of my politicians that support full amnesty.

The fence has little to do with it... if they would just start enforcing already established laws... the illegals would go home.

It won't help much. Most of the illegals come in on temp. visas and then just stay. We need an effective way to track them and send them home. Other countries can do it so why can't we?

67% of illegals are visa overstays. The best prevention is to stop hiring, giving them social services, non emergency care, citizenship to the children they use as leverage, etc. But, if it helps to build a wall for the others, I am all for it.
