Charles Rangel (DEM NY) expressed it best last night on TV.

We are a family, families fight, but no one has the right to make fun of my family.

As a Democrat I would never vote for Bush, but no one has the right to make fun of our family.

He definitely is a showman. I'm sure he did it for attention and to be funny---but to do it in this country is especially insulting. Can you imagine if Bush went to Venezuela and did the same thing? I know the UN isn't supposed to be under US jurisdiction but....
I think Chavez needs to learn who is real enemies are. I do respect what he does for the poor though. Shows he's not a hypocrite at least.
I had heard he tried to make some deals with Bush a few years ago and Bush rebuffed his offer. So I think that it may be "payback". To align yourself with Iranians is just ludicrous.
And people (Muslims), made a big deal when the Pope made those comments, when he was quoting someone from like 700 years ago. Maybe we should call for Chavez's death...wait Robertson already did.

I think he had a point, just not at the right time or place to make it. Actually; Cheney is the Devil, Bush is merely one of his minions. All three: Bush, Cheney, and Chaves are EVIL!!!

It seems a bit inappropriate given the circumstances. The UN is a world designed to discuss world issues, not bash a particular head of state. I would advise people to read the full text of Chavez's speech before commenting.

It was pretty funny.

It actually got some dems to speak out in support of President Bush.

Chaves didn't say anything the democrats haven't already said.

I initially thought there were 2.9 million (barrels a day) reasons that W might care.

But remember - there are lots of oil consumers in the world. If countries like China & Cuba buy their oil from Venezuela consuming that 2.9 million barrels a day - that leaves the rest for US.

In other words, if our enemies buy oil from other enemies, that lets us buy oil from our "friends" without having to give a damn what are enemies are saying about us.

NOTE : I used the word "enemies" in the context of the idiot-in-cief - not the USA. i.e. enemies of W.

He's trying to make a scene to get everyones attention. Similar to a baby crying in a crowded bus.

I loathe Bush as a person, but can't say Chavez was exhibiting statesman-like skills that day.

No one can expect more from a backwater country. He is supporting the devil in disguise.

Hi- yes I have plenty of comments. I think it's absolutely wrong, ridiculous and un-called for. And just how did he get to come and speak in a Baptist Church in New York of all places ? Someone tell me! please! I can't utter my disgust for that enough !
