the Democrats?

Typically the Republicans end up with a couple extra actual points once the actual voting polls close.

Will the Republicans have their cake and eat it too?

I stand behind our president, as any good citizen should. I have been a supporter of the Bush family since his father served Reagan. It seems, however that more of the world is taking a progressively negative stance toward Bush and his actions. Has he finally gone too far? When normally quiet countries like Venezuela have their leaders stand up before the U.N. referring to our president as the devil, perhaps it's time we took a good look at what this nation has gotten itself into. I think it's time we, as a nation, stopped trying to play superhero to the rest of the world as a guise for our own agendas. I've never said this before, but I think the Democrats need another turn at the oval office. At least when Democrats screw things up, it's limited to things within our borders. Thoughts, anyone?

Ok, I am curious about obtaining US citizenship. I am a permanent resident in the US with a valid greencard. I am able to live here all my life if I want to. I was born in the UK & have a valid UK/ EU passport. My boyfriend of 7 years is a natural-born US citizen. When we get married, am I automatically entitled to US citizenship or is it a similar process to applying on my own? Any info is appreciated.

for the most part won't learn english and then live off the system, but immigrants from other countries will learn english and strive to make it as a productive member of society. I have many hispanic friends who all agree w/me so it's not just me. They hate how almost all puerto ricans who live in the orlando area are on foodstamps, wic and section 8 and give the few decent ones a bad name. Then they want the national anthem sung in SPANISH?! C'mon. It's so getting out of control!

They have converted themselves to be just like the greedy corporate b******s they vilify.
First they creat a product, grossly over charge for it (as is evident by the the absence of sponsers)
Second, they pay shameful salaries to their top execs (Al Franken $2,000,000 per year, that they will admit to).
Third, they help finiance it by stealing tax payer money from the poor ($875,000 from Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club).
Then, and best of all, they hedge around the option of bankruptcy so as not to be personaly responsible for the money they owe.
Welcome them to the greedy corporate trough.
Nothing like good Liberals to save us all.

at least six priests, 14 pastors and thousands of Christians have been murdered in the name of Islam in just the last five years. This even includes 382 who were slain by Muslims in or on the grounds of a church in countries like Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Turkey and Bangladesh.

By contrast, we can't find a single incident since 9/11 when a mosque leader or ordinary Muslim was murdered in the name of Catholicism.

So, please excuse us for not getting worked up over someone's hurt feelings. Islam will become a Religion of Peace when Muslims decide to make it so. Stop the killing. Stop the self-indulgent whining and excuse. Earn our respect by stepping up and taking responsibility.

It is time for the world to take stock of this problem.
Do you agree?

I am an old political science master's graduate and cannot believe how the use of focus groups have changed modern day politics. Has much more to do with public relations rather than issues. The problem is, if the president (or any other politician for that matter) is simply echoing back what he was told to say by advisors who studied a focus group, where does he really stand on the issue? This is the current problem we are facing with the Iraq mess. Bad news is somehow spinned into good news. And the president is getting advice from Karl Rove and other advisors on what words to use and what words not to use based on focus groups and random polls. Meanwhile, the root of the issue is ignored and debate is stifled. I am not exclusively picking on Bush either. Clinton was the king of using polls and focus groups to spin information. And in the end, you weren't really sure what he personally stood for.
