What happened was I was approaching a stop-light that was green, and the person in front of me was about to sit through the green light. I passed the person on the left hand side of the road to go straight through the light. The cop was approaching the light from the left side of the light, and saw me pass the vehicle. The cop told me that when we go to court he would have the offense reduced to improper driving. I've had a few speeding tickets in the past and if convicted I could possibly have my license suspended. We went to court, I pleaded guilty, and the cop didn't attempt to reduce the charge, so I appealed the case. Does anyone have any advice please? I commute back and forth to work, and also go to college part time.. also, I live in VA if that means anything.

I am a paralegal in NJ, who attempted to assist my daughter-in-law in municipal court. The prosecutor would not permit me to discuss the matter with him when I attempted to produce photographs and discuss a dismissal/plea agreement on her behalf. I explained that she is Russian, and would have difficulty making herself understood in English. He strongly suggested that I was practicing law without a license, and told me to stay out of court. It has been suggested to me that if I had obtained a power of attorney he would have had to permit my assistance. I would appreciate any thoughts, comments or suggestions.

My PSD repaired a water main break on a Thursday. Next day, my neighbor's house caught fire. The Fire Dept was there fast but when they hooked to the hydrant, the hydrant broke. Then they hooked to another hydrant and the water main broke. 10 fire companies worked to contain the fire with water from the creek but to no avail. Then my house caught and burnt to the ground... 22 rooms of it! After watching my house burn for 13 hours, the water company guy came around and told my husband "Gee, maybe I should have looked a little closer at that break, huh"?
My question is... In the state of WV (I am not from here, just here because of hubby's contract for 6 more months) can the water company be sued for negligence? If so, where do I find a lawyer that isn't afraid to go up against a PSD?
Any help or ideas would really be appreciated. We literally lost everything! I am at wits end with this.
Thanks in advance for your ideas.

My title pretty much says the question. In my opinion I despise George Bush, I think he's the cause of 9/11 and is ruining our relationship with the world (no offense to the people that like him).

My father has told my mother and all 7 children what he wants & doesn't want upon the occasion he is unable to communicate. He has been emphatic about it for many yrs. He filled out a living will at 3 hospitals through the yrs. In August his primary dr made arrangements for him to go to the nearest big city to have an angio done. He went but then backed out. His primary physician then talked him into it again. He finally agreed & was having the angio when they stopped because his main artery was 99% blocked and rushed him into emer open heart surgery. He agreed to the surgery while still recuperating from sedation of the angio. He got a very condensed "this & this & this may happen" He had strokes after surgery & has been in a comma 13 days. He has started to wake up a little but is still uncommunicative. He has major brain damage. He did not want to be on life support any more than a couple days. The hosp is refusing to support his will.

We would have 2 elections for president. The 1st election is where you want to vote for the person who you want to be president, the 2nd election consist of the top 2 battling out against eash other. This insures that people would not vote in the 1st election just because the person is the less of 2 evils. This is because the people would know that there would be another election. What do you think???

To elaborate, one friend was out of town and while he was gone his roommates used the master key to unlock his room to play some music (which had never bothered the person before) and then they left to go out and while they were gone this kids room was robbed. Now, before leaving his roommates shut his door but didn't lock it. When they got back his computer, game cube and a lot of other valuble things were stolen. Well his roommates offered him $1600 (which was all they had) to replace it, but this kid wants MONEY and the full value of his stuff NEW. He wants $1800 for his computer, when it's only worth about $700 now, and he basically wants them to pay what he paid for everything, even though the stuff was a few years old. My main question is, what are his roommates responsible for legally? If this kid took his roommates to court, what would the judge think they are responsible for?
