My PSD repaired a water main break on a Thursday. Next day, my neighbor's house caught fire. The Fire Dept was there fast but when they hooked to the hydrant, the hydrant broke. Then they hooked to another hydrant and the water main broke. 10 fire companies worked to contain the fire with water from the creek but to no avail. Then my house caught and burnt to the ground... 22 rooms of it! After watching my house burn for 13 hours, the water company guy came around and told my husband "Gee, maybe I should have looked a little closer at that break, huh"?
My question is... In the state of WV (I am not from here, just here because of hubby's contract for 6 more months) can the water company be sued for negligence? If so, where do I find a lawyer that isn't afraid to go up against a PSD?
Any help or ideas would really be appreciated. We literally lost everything! I am at wits end with this.
Thanks in advance for your ideas.

It was all over the news. It just seems that since we were not harmed physically.... it's no big deal. I called lawyers who said we have a case but "You need someone willing to run with the ball against the water company".
Seems like the lawyers here don't have a ball to run with.... if ya catch my drift. lol
