"I think it's kind of peculiar and kind of comical that people are shocked that the number of Latinos are going up," said Gregory Salcido, 32, a history teacher at El Rancho High School outside Los Angeles. "No matter where you go, you'll see people my skin shade."


The Golden State added 4.1 million people during the 1990s, more than the individual populations of 26 other states. But the state's 13.8 percent growth rate ranked only 18th nationally.

With 33.9 million people, California is easily the most populous state. Nearly one of every eight Americans is a Californian and the state's booming economy, fueled in part by a huge labor force, is ranked sixth in the world.

California is gaining one congressional seat because of its growth, its smallest delegation increase in 80 years.

The Hispanic population nationally grew by 58 percent to 35.3 million, or about 13 percent of the U.S. population. Nearly one in every three Hispanics nationwide lives in California.

California joins New Mexico, Hawaii and the District of Columbia where non-Hispanic whites are also in the minority.

A 27 percent increase in the Asian population in California was due mostly to immigration, according to the state.

It seems that some major health care providers have a tight grasp on health policies, charege way too much and dictate what the health plan will cover. Millions of Americans go without health care and it's very sad. What are some resolutions or ideas that you have which can improve the health coverage of Americans as well as lower the cost?

It is flogging a dead horse to point out yet another criminal or moral shortcoming by the Clintons, I realize, but the "The Path to 9/11," a six-hour miniseries scheduled to air September 10 and 11 on ABC, is must viewing since it clearly documents how FBI terrorism chief John O'Neill tried in vain to convince the Clinton administration that it needed to deal with Osama bin Laden. Needless to say, "Slick" had more important matters on his mind and between his legs. Liberals are already whining, as they inevitably do when the TRUTH emerges. Their only "truth" is that which they can twist to their own sordid ends. "Slick" had the opportunity to have bin Laden extradited, said so himself, and then later denied it. Duh! And his party is going to protect America from terrorism? Give me a BREAK! I still doubt they got all of the classified documents that Clinton's security advisor Sandy Berger stuffed in his nasty drawers. Conservatives make mistakes, but liberals are downright DANGEROUS!

I sure as hell dont. GW and his cronies have made it worse and less safe now. Now that its election time..I heard GW say the word Osama on TV! wow..the first mention of him in a looong time.
