There are tools out there to stop the harrassers from reaching you, depending on what medium you use. Yet, if you simply want to stop the people from doing it, that is another question entirely. It would involve why people are what they are, and that would not be easy to asnwer.

Change accounts and never give out any personal information. I have my email set NOT to open unless I double click on it. If I don't know the person. I simply delete without opening. This saves me headaches, time, and frustration.
