If world peace were to truly exist - then there would be no need for National borders, each country would no longer require an individual army, or separate identity, and resultingly - no need for a sovereign government (A world government would work).

Since the cold war was the last 'real' threat to world peace - are our governments now trying to encourage new threats to keep themselves in power?

"New figures fuel fears over 'white immigration' into Britain
London, Aug 23: Fears and anxieties over the influx of 'white immigrants' into Britain have been fuelled by official figures that at least 427,000 east European migrants arrived in Britain during the last two years.

The figures are way beyond those projected by the British government when new members joined the European Union in 2004. The government's original estimate was that the annual intake of legal migrant workers from the mostly former communist states would be 5,000 to 13,000.

After the new figures were released the prospect of Bulgaria and Romania joining the EU next year is seen with increasing trepidation. The ongoing public debate on the issue is similar to the one when Asians and Afro-Caribbeans migrated to Britain decades ago."

Should we continue to stand idly by while our leaders accept bribes from corporations to vote in their favor? SHould we allow others to undermine the very freedoms we have cherished? I say we should rise up and fight a government that is slipping out of the peoples hands. We fought to free ourselves from a monarchy and now in its place we have created our own version. I am tired of listening to a president that wants to boss us around. I say we stand up and declare in one voice what WE want!!!!

There seems, at least to me, that there is sometimes lack of humanity when addressing the illegal immigration question. They are treated in some posts like cockroaches that should be exterminated. I’m certainly not talking about everyone nor am I saying that if you think there should be strict enforcement that you are some how inhumane. I’m just asking that we remember that that we are discussing the future of millions of human beings and we should be pushing our leaders for an effective yet compassionate solution. Anyway, that’s my two cents. Feel free to disagree.

As you know (or not), Turkey is the only ally of Israel in the Middle East and it is a secular country with a majority of Muslim population. As a member of Nato and UN, Turkey has always been respected around the world in the peacekeeping missions. Ehud Olmert (Israel's Prime Minister) and Lebanese President (Fouad Sinyora) both asked Turkey to send troops for stabilizing the region, but Israeli President stated that a country like Turkey, which has close ties with Israel, could not be neutral and therefore shouldn't be in the force. What do you think?

O.k. what the heck is wrong with people. They are still complaining about FISO and privacy of cell phone records when we have proven this kind of intelligence saves lives and maybe could have stopped previous terrorism. If you aren’t doing anything illegal who the hell cares what/who listens in on your cell phone calls or looks at your list of inbound/outbound calls?

WE are pcs'ing from yokota ab japan to kadena ab japan and I was just wondering if he would need a no fee passport or would his regular blue american tourist passport work for getting into the country. He has been in and out several times on the mainland and received the sofa stamp, but I was curious if there would be any headaches for a PCS related move. He is only 2 years old. WE also will be going down on the freedom bird and will be landing on Kadena ab.
