Noam Chomsky, quoting another, is fond of the expression "bewildered herd". I also prefer the term "sheeple". Perhaps we can ask our politicians to "mooo-ve us along".

The Democrat Party keeps telling the same lies because they get votes that way.

Because, even though every politician is so crooked they make a fireman's ladder look like a spiral staircase, we want to believe that someone, somewhere, sometime, is going to live up to their campaign promises and return the government to the people.

We continue to believe the lines because we want to. We want the politician who will stand up to the political parties and their agendas, and who will get into office and tell the special interest groups to pound salt.

So even though our brains tell us its not going to happen, our heart tells us that "our" candidate is going to change all that.

(Its mass hallucinations; similar to the bread mold that led to the Salem Witch Trials.)

People are easily led in this country. Why make up new lies when the old ones seem to work? Ignorance is to blame.

To get re-elected so they can give them selves a pay raise and to collect the federal pension. I personally don't believe 90% of what politicians have to say.

I agree. The politicians ought to make up new lies. The old ones were getting tedious.

Nice one! But I don't know,,,,my guess is the very short attention span on americans. Somebody posted a list of Bushisms, and told people that Gore said them. EVERYBODY BELIEVED HIM! Even the dems...sad...

People don't believe them dummy. In a strict 2-party system your choices are ho-ho and ho-hum. You vote for the honest liar.

that's really true, i think it's because some people are so ignorant and maybe so stupid too (sorry but that's real), and this is why they still believe in what the politicians are sayin'
