I am considering joining the Army, and if I do will begin as an E4 (college degree). My preferred MOS is 98X, meaning getting stationed at Ft Ord for DLI training in Chinese or more likely Arabic. I think I'll be at DLI for about a year with either of those languages.
I have a wife and 5 month old daughter. Up until now, we've both had to work, but how possible would it be for us to live on my E4 pay and benefits? I do expect some decent bonuses (enlistment bonus, college grad, high demand MOS) but don't know when those show up.
My wife is really freaked out about my possibly joining up, but it would be worth it to us if she got to stay at home with our baby.
Also, she is an elementary school teacher. Does anyone know what DoD teachers make? Is she better off (if she does work) looking for a teaching job off post?
Any advice would be swell. Thanks!

my 18 year old daughter may be in trouble for check fraud because her father gave her a check when he was drunk and possibly under the influence of marijuana which he smokes on a regular basis and now he claims that he didnt give her the check to begin with.this is the same man who has given her numerous checks before.this particular check was for 950.00 and to top it off he didnt sign the check, but the bank cashed it anyway.so the police have questioned by daughter and have told her that she needs to either make suitable arrangements to her father or she will be prosecuted.i her mother have explained as much as i could to the police officers handling this case and they tell me that if i can get him recorded on tape admitting to giving her the check or at least saying that he doesnt remember giving her the check, then the police will just refer this case to civil court.so does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?if i had more characters then i could go into detail.

It is always heard or seen that Israel air strikes hit civilians, and Israel army are claiming that Hez. Guers. are using civilians as shield. Up to now no physical evidence is presented that will prove that Hez. are using civ. as shield. It is well known that whenever Hez made their attacks, 90% of the victims are millitary. But the story is different on Israelis' attacks. In the previous days, several attacks were carried by Israel millitary and that the whole victims are civilians mostly females and children, no single corps of Hez army can be seen among the vics. What I understand is that Israel is carrying its attacks on all lebanese not Hez. But i don't know others views.

troubled teen needs to make bail. 4,000 property bail or 2,000 cash bail. 10% is needed, is this just for the property bond? do we need a bondsman or can we as citizens take the 10% to the court as in no need for a lawyer or bondsman? what happens to that 10%?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to cap the number of flights, or the number of miles people are allowed to travel, instead of increasing taxes, as higher taxes would only penalise the poor, not the richer people that fly more miles, and generally use more fuel???

We have a lease purchase on a manufacturing facility in a rural area. Our lease states we shall provide our own utilities. However, we are outside the city limits and unable to get a water meter. Currently we are running off the landlord's water meter (next door) and we pay the bill. The facility has always had water supplied this way, even before us. But since our relationship with the landlord has turned sour, he keeps turning our water off. Do we have any legal standing and/or rememdy to ensure access to water? (He is upset with/apparently blackmailing us for not meeting his demand to turn over property in our possession that may be involved in his bankruptcy suit - which he testified was in our possession. Since he did so, we don't wish to turn it over without knowing we won't be held responsible for it.) It's a messy situation with an unscrupulous character. Please help - this time we have been without water for 4 days and counting!
