It's sad that Hezbollah would let a 9 year old boy have a machine gun.
However, if he was in my face with a gun I would have to shoot him. That's just self preservation.

Unfortunately, yes.
While he is below military age, he has a weapon and the clear and definite intent to use it against you. Under the Geneva Convention, that makes him a combattant, probably an unlawful combattant but a combattant nonetheless.
If one of those points a weapon my way, well, killing a kid is something I, a hardly religious fellow, pray I'll never have to do. Hell, I don't even want to have an adult in my sights. Against deadly force, there is ony one response that the military uses and that's deadly force. There is none of that rubber bullets or tear gas or shooting guns out of their hands stuff. Center of mass, keep firing until he's no longer a threat. I know, it sounds brutal. It sounds brutal because it is.
And it's the very sad reality for a solder who might have to make that call.

I wish I could say no, but when I was nine I was able to fire a weapon, at least in the mechanical sense. A machine gun, though... I don't know if a 9 year old could actually use something that heavy, with that much recoil. In any case, I would have to say yes, and live with the guilt.

As much as i hate to agree with everyone else, yes. It doesn't matter, if you have the balls to grab the gun wheather the person is 9 or 89 years old, man, woman, or child...If they have a gun, you are in a cobat zone, yes they are a combatant. Its sad that that places use kids like that. If you really took him out its not your fault. It is your job as a soilder. Its just like a lawyer or a judge sentencing a minor for murder...its your job....

It's NOT a cap gun he has pointed at you.
He is a combatant.

Yes, however I would try to aviod a casualty by shooting his gun from his hand or using tear gas, rubber bullets. It's sad but if a 9 year old was shooting at me I would have to defent myself.

Absolutely. Being a combat vet, it is a decision you would'nt even think about trust me. It's either their life or yours brother. It's sad, and it's not right but you have too. It sucks.

He would not have one if he can't use it. Or he could have taken the machine gun from a deceased soldier.

Kill or be killed. They gripe b/c Isreal is killing woman and children. But they put them in the way with guns....so they get killed. It is very sad.
