If you need one ASAP pay the service fee it can be processed in 2 days. The reason is they hire outside consulting firms to do backround checks and with the large amount of requests for passports they take a while. I just filled for mine, I heard anywhere from 3-4 weeks.

I think the average wait for a passport is between 2-8 weeks. I've waited on average 4-5 weeks for mine. Just got mine and my husband's renewed this spring and I think we waited 8 weeks this time.

Hi, well I received mine in just four weeks. I have had no problems in the past...I think it's about time to get a new one as a matter of fact!!

Possibly it's just a busy season ..a run on passports. good luck

Contact the passport office you sent them to and ask them how long it will take, usually takes between 2 and 6 weeks

What country? Different countries have different times required to produce passports.

Did you fill out the forms correctly and provide all required data?

There should be a general enquiries number for you to call about passport issuance. Give them a call and ask them how it is going.
