I remember discussions at home about him, but it was long ago. Now, studying up on him and feeling a tad paranoid over our Governments incursions on our personal freedoms, I got to wondering if the big eye in the sky will just run us all through a computer and spew out 'the likley suspects'. Watch out, Yahooers!
I'm not too keen about the prospect given that having been raised in the land of the free, I speak my mind.
How long will that last for all of us?

Americans: This is totally a question of opinion and I don't really have any agenda. I have a personal opinion, but I want to know what your opinions are. Do you think that the US should get militarily involved in the conflict between Isreal and Lebanon? If so, at what point do you think that the US should enter the conflict?

Many folks are saying they had them yet leave no source or reference. What were they and where were they. Real evidence, not old decrepid equipment or the word of hacks like Chalabi.

In market economies people have the right to choose their leaders because they believe that they represent them and they are working for their best fate. I do agree with that as members of parliament are elected by the majority of votes of their districts.

My question is do you care about you representative of your district more or do you care about your boss and superviosr ? Who controls your life - your income - your vacation - your career - you mental health ? Is it your supervisor or is it your member of parliament ? Did you choose your supervisor ? How come that CEOs of private companies are not chosen by the votes of the employees. How come that in every private company there isn't a union to represent the employees to defend their rights and to impose on management what the majority of the employees want ? It is a one man show CEO says this is the new company policy and everyone has to follow him and he was not chosen or elected. IS this democracy ?

Most of us, except for those who have the deep seated conviction that they can "help" bring about "the end times" so that they can enjoy "the rapture", do not want the world to be consumed by war. We do not want all the suffering and the deaths of innocents by the millions.

So how do we stop it. Clearly, right now we are on the path to more war. The Bush administration wants to provoke more conflict and think they can win a world war. The terrorists are willing to die for their cause and their personal perversion of their own faith.

How can people of rational minds, regardless of what faith they hold to if any, stop the fundamentalists from imposing their distorted version of "the will of God" upon us all?

Good government requires restraint, which is why all governments descend to tyranny.

This morning I was getting in the shower, and I smelled a little whiff of cigarette smoke drifting down from the apartment above. I ignored it.

This is the principle of free government. I don't like cigarette smoke, but I love not interferring in other people's lives.

The smoke wasn't killing me, it was just a temporary aesthetic inconvenience.

Can anyone explain to me how this pertains to democracy?

This is like an open ended philosophical riddle.

Marriage is religious joining of a man and a woman in the eyes of God. That's how it started. That's what it is. But in modern days the government recognizes it and regulates it.

Since the liberals all want a seperation of church and state (whatever that means) shouldn't we eliminate marriage alltogether? Makes sense to me.

Impeachment charges were brought against President Clinton for lying.

What about Bush who said "Iraq is an immediate threat--sheltering terrorists and weapons of mass destruction and we have evidence of both," "mission accomplished," "we are turning the corner in Iraq," "the world is a safer place because we invaded Iraq," "we are turning the corner in Iraq," "we are turning the corner in Iraq," "we are....".

All lies, lies, lies...

Really, how does our government know that some of these people aren't carrying the hard to get Items that it takes to make a dirty bomb?

In a recent article, the Boarder Patrol admitted that it has caught up to 500 or so people from 68 different countries crossing in one day. But you know they're not allowed to talk in detail.

What is our government up to? Also, what is the REAL reason our borders aren’t being defended. We have 100 times the resources needed to do the job, but nothing from the government and I just cannot buy the we need more field workers argument any longer, I have to speak Spanish to brush my teeth.
