During the Clinton administation many were against him. Yet I do not remember anyone saying those people were unpatriotic.

In the light of "AntiAmerican" worldwide sentiment, internal issues, the willingness of people to kill our citizens, and the unmistakable strenghthening of the "right" in American politics..could we head back to our diplomatic stance prior to WW1. Maybe everyone would be better off if Americans stayed out of other countries problems and spend all of our resources within our own borders. We could find some way to meet our energy demands, our universities would find some way to fill the classrooms with Americans, and we have plenty of infrastructure to keep our military personal busy while making us stronger.

LIbertarians clamor for both economic and individual freedom. If the businesses had freedom to do whatever they wanted, wouldn't that (hypothetically) then infringe on individual liberties held in such high regard? (ie corporations could limit what individuals could buy, prices and control production and absolute costs as well as wages and working days)

Democratic, Republican, or Independent aside. Our last president was shamefully put through the impeachment process after the discovery that he was upholding the long standing political tradition of our presidents, having an extramarital affair, even though the country, economy, and international opinion were were at high water marks. In the mean time, we now have a president who has started and prolonged an unjustifed war, watched our economy nose-dive, watched our unemployment skyrocket, broken the laws of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, unlawfully imprisoned people, advocated torture, and has one of the most corrupt and self-serving cabinets and vice presidents ever. Why has there been no impeachment proceedings? It is clearly what the majority of Americans want. Have we lost some much control of our government that we ourselves are now on our way to becoming one of the facist dictatorships we so stridently stand against?

After a Plea has been made, can the offender schedule when he wants to serve his punishment?. Here's the situation..The offender, the public defender, and the Prosecuting attorney have made a plea agreement (A Deal).. The Punishment will be for the offender to do bootcamp and probation. Bootcamp is for 3 to 5 months. The offender starts school (college) on AUG 16, 2006 and the offender goes for the last hearing to plea guilty for July 20, 2006...The offender doesn't want the bootcamp to collide with his schooling to where he won't be able to attend school because of the bootcamp. Is it possible for for the prosecuting attorney or judge to schedule his punishment to be served after his school year is up or will he have to serve his punishment after his sentencing court date comes up regardless if he planning on going to school in Aug...Please give accurate feedback.. Thank you

Usually I am against this idea but it seems to me that the extreme left wacko's have taken over the Democrat party and the Neo-Cons have taken the Republican party. While I ususally defend the President (just go through my Q&A) I do have some real problems with some of his ideas. Namely run away spending, failure to secure our borders and support of NAFTA, CAFTA, the FTAA and the SPP (Security and prosperity prememiter)
I was thinking we could call the new part the American True Conservative Party. Who is with me?

They sell the foodstamps, rent out the apartment to 3 other people spend the money on drugs, get stoned out of their mind, get hurt or sick go to the hospital, which medicaid pays for. By the middle of the month their broke. Then they go to red cross and the churches for more help and they give them more help. by then its the first of the month they start the cycle over again. Also, they have cars but no insurance you know when they dont have insurance, because its a hit and run. And you know the first question the police ask (did you get their name).

Science is the engine of progress for a country (and humanity). It's what puts a country ahead of other countries and over the long term, it's what puts their economy ahead of other countries. To reject, hamper or restrict science is to launch a direct attack on a country's competitiveness.
If he's going to play the morality card, he should play it consistently. Science's most horrific invention is the nuclear weapon. It saves lives by taking lives, just like stem cell research (assuming you consider embryos to be lives, but let's assume that for now).
If you were going to call "morality timeout" on any area of science, it would surely be nuclear weapons research. Yet he seems to have no problems with all the talk of developing new nuclear weapons, those bunker busters and the like. It's inconsistent and hypocritical, and thus to my mind indefensible.
So which ethical line do you toe? Make funds available for research, and allow the families of these embryos the freedom to decide whether they can be used in research or not, ultimately benefitting millions of lives through the research? Or would you withhold federal funding on a fallacious religious belief, and condemn these embryos to destruction?

2. Why?

3. If we should legally protect the species, for some reason other than practical concerns, is this a form of legislating morality or personal preference?

Both men, both people I admire. My, how quickly we forget lessons we're supposed to learn from our past.

But, here goes:

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -Teddy Roosevelt

And:

"He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot." - Groucho Marx

With the invention and now wide spread prolifiration of computers in American households, is it or will it be possible to relieve our corrupt legislative systems of some of their responsibility with voting online by computer? Seeing how this country is being taken in a direction that the vast majority disapprove of, I believe this may be a way to regain the democratic spirit our forefathers envisioned. Most of the processes they implyed (representatives) were due to the vast distances between settlers and the inability to fully include everyone.

The most recent person later proven innocent was executed in 1996, well after the advent of DNA technology. There are 2,600 people sitting on death row right now. I gotta believe that some of them are innocent. So why are we still killing people in the USA?

And just to cut some of you morons off, I wouldn't want someone who killed a relative of mine executed. Wanna know how I know? Because my Aunt Pamela Loudin was raped and murdered six years ago. At the sentencing hearing, I asked the court to spare his life. you see, I didn't want more death to come out of this. Life without parole is punishment enough.
