Good lord, I need to just save a word document so I an cut and paste my answer, since there is an idiot everyday asking the same question:
If you are here illegally, you broke the law and should be deported. This is a felony. For you to then get a job using fake documents such as a social security number, you have commited another federal crime, another felony. So now you are at the very least TWICE the criminal. Being a criminal and a fraud, you are working and paying taxes into a fake Social Security, and I think that at the very least you have forfeited any social security taxes you paid into it.
Now, what about the FICA taxes? Hmmm, as we can surmise, these people are not the ones making 60-100K a year. These are low wages people, meaning they are taking maximum deductions and probably collecting tax refunds, maybe even the earned income credit. Isn't that nice.
Then there is the rest, you know, the construction workers, roofers, lawn mowing, house cleaners that work for cash. Both they and the employer ain't reporting $hit. They are not paying the required SS and FICA taxes.
So overall, for the most part, in general, the most illegal immigrants are paying is sales tax, an amount of money that comes NOWHERE near to paying the cost they impose on society.
Have a nice day, law-breaking idiot.

All people--citizens, visitors, tourists, illegals--in the United States pay taxes in the form of state and local sales taxes. Everyone who owns or rents any kind of dwelling (even a hotel room) also pays the property taxes on that dwelling--they may pay it directly as an owner or indirectly as a renter, but they certainly do pay. These two taxes constitute 95% of the funding for education and many other social services in the U.S. The notion that the children of illegal immigrants are somehow getting a "free ride" by going to school is a fallacy.
Now then--on the federal taxes.
Almost all illegal workers make very little money and often have multiple dependents. Even if they did file a return, the vast majority of these workers would owe no federal taxes at all, or only a token amount at best.
However, illegal workers do pay federal taxes in a big way. In fact, the Social Security Administration estimates that about three-fourths of illegal workers in the United States pay taxes.
These workers pay into the Social Security system through payroll taxes, and this has produced a windfall of about $7 billion (yes, that's billion with a "b") in Social Security taxes and another $1.5 billion in Medicare. Although they cannot receive benefits from these programs, they are indeed paying taxes to support the Social Security system.
I support improving legal immigration, but nothing good can come of throwing out taxpaying immigrants who have proven they want to work hard to support their families.

How can illegals pay taxes when they are floating around under the radar? I have no problem with the people that come to this country and play by the rules, learn the language and contribute something other than a bunch of obnoxious walk-outs for NO reason. Why should we support the ones that are just leeching off our society?

Do you think paying taxes makes you a "good citizen"? Some do, but many don't. Illegals broke the law by coming here, most do NOT pay property taxes because they rent and send most of their wages back to Mexico, or they take them back themselves. The don't assimilate, they don't learn English (and many don't care to)
What do they contribute to America? Nothing. They steal free health care and education and don't pay into the system. They lower the wages of Americans by accepting extremely low pay and no benefits.

We pay the bulk of the cost of services like education and emergency health care for poor people here even if they pay all taxes for their income group. That is why we and all other developed countries limit immigration of poor people to begin with, and is why we need immigration to be limited.
Unfortunately, while our next door neighbor doesn't give universal education it will always be a 'better life' for people to come here from there. However, there are way too many of them now. Our education and services are no longer adequate for our own people. Our own people have to come first.

illegal immigrants do pay taxes... just not the kind that all of the above are referring to
you know when you go to the store and you buy something... you have to pay extra money and they call that extra money SALES TAX
we get some of that money back in tax returns but none of the illegals do
i don't think its right to deport immigrants and not just because our society is built on their work and we wouldn't be able to function without them. they came here for a better life, yet we treat them horribly just because we think we're better than them because we were born here but remember that unless you're native american, your family is part of that immigrant population
they just want a better life and really, we need them more than they need us

these ignorant @ss holes don't want to hear that, no not the truth. the truth hurts!!! if they only knew how many do pay into ssecurity & medicaid or property taxes or cars, or anything else, damn i need a downer. they believe everything the media portrays, but i bet not one of them have asked one of these ppl about what they do & don't pay. it's easier for them to assimilate w/all the hateful ppl than to open their eyes & ears. oh well, amnesty will happen & they'll get over it.

If they are illegal, and paying taxes, then they are still illegal ... border security is of the utmost, and that's what we have to concentrate on ... businesses who hire illegals and who deduct taxes are worse than the illegals themselves in my opinion ... go after the corporations big time ... give them heavy fines ... for those small businesses who have difficulties and have to wait for our unwilling bureaucracy to verify SSNs ... give them proper, workable tools to check names against SSNs ... no sensitive information has to be given out by checking just that ... names against numbers ...
