During the Clinton administation many were against him. Yet I do not remember anyone saying those people were unpatriotic.

When Karl Rove got a job in the White House. It's a tactic he's used his entire career. If someone criticizes you, destroy them. It's obviously worked because Bush's most rabid followers will always criticize someone who says his policies are wrong as being an-American or hugging the terrorists. They do it on here all the time.

For instance the House Republicans condemning the DCCC commercial, but saying it's alright to use images from 9/11 in their own commercials (including flag-draped coffins).

I think there is a gaping casm of a difference between being critical of any presidents policies, and calling for the downfall of the institution.

Also, I think, it is patritotic to be critical of policies based upon pricipled thought. It is not patriotic to be critical of policies based upon towing a parties line.

You are correct. Patriotism, in its purest form, is for the people of a nation----not an office.
