The US has many interests with the middle east. 1. oil oil oil 2. Use as a potential shiled for further attacks 3. Global conspiracy to keep humans afraid of one another ~ scapegoat for "terrorism" so that US could kill thousands of its own people and justify a new brand of holy war. 4. Destroy the civilizations that live in the energetic seat of humanity.

It is partly due to that however I think the real reason is something else. Oil has a lot to do with it yes however the real reason is to surround Iran (the true head of the snake) with democracies. The reason this is is the people of Iran love the West (America has about a 90% populrity in some of the polls) so what the US tired to do was surround Iran with functioning democracies and watch the country turn into a democracy from within. Will this theory work maybe.

No, I think the USA invaded Iraq to remove the threat Saddam Hussein posed for the entire Middle East. I think that the hope was that Iraq would establish a secular democratic government that might be a stabilizing force who, along with Israel, might maintain the tenuous peace in the Middle East and counter balance the theocratic Islamic governments of Iran and Saudi Arabia.
