Less than 10,000 Americans have died in terrorist attacks in the history of the country. Over 40,000 die each year in traffic accidents. What if we took 1/4 of the antiterrorism budget and used it to train people to drive better?

The conservatives don't waste their time convincing with inspiring arguements or new ideas, they cut right to the meat with stern finger pointing and testy threats. Even the lady neo-cons talk like they were somehow magically convinced that men are, indeed, the natural leaders.
It gives the impression that the wife is never brought along to town. The she's always left at home to sew, cook and mend the fences while slightly bowlegged men do the talking and the finger poking in the eye.
When is the singing cowboy and preacher with a wide sombero going to be made to get off his high horse? Or when are the woman going to knock him off. It's your job ladies.

I am looking for a starting point for this situation. My 26 yr old daughter had a serious drug problem for about 3 years. We all have worked hard with her to straighten out this horrible problem, and it appeared this time, things were going pretty well. She is well educated and has a very nice fiance. She is now in a woman's correctional institute to complete time for a probation violation. She will be delivering her baby before she can try to parole out. We have discussed and agreed on her dad and I obtaining some kind of temporary custody of the baby until she gets out. The baby's dad will be fully involved in the care of the baby. Whatever way we go, it needs to be where it is not difficult to reverse custody back to my daughter when she gets out. Thank you for any help with this situation.

I am 39 - not a kid.

I HAVE ZIP / ZERO / NO INTEREST IN JOINING THE MILITARY !!

I am right handed

I was born with miserable sight in my right eye. Uncorrected - maybe 20/400, corrected maybe 20/200, but it is just plain impractical to sight a rifle with my right eye.

When I was a kid, I had a bb gun, and I sighted it by pretty much moving my head to the right and the gun to the left, so that my left eye was looking down the sight.

A friend of mine who was in the Army once said that I would never be handed a gun by the military, as a result of the poor sight in my right eye.

Other that trying to shoot left-handed, which seems like a really bad idea to me, what out there in the wide world of weaponry would permit me to shoot right-handed while using the vision from my left eye ?

To me, it seems like pretty simple telescope technology - the light would just have to be redirected some - a little fancy 'plumbing', if you will.

I wanna be a vehicle mechanic. Which branch would be cooler and help me get a good career as a Vehicle Mechanic in the civilian world?

Navy: CM, Construction Mechanic. (Part of Seabees)
They work on all kinds of vehicles both gas/diesel engines.
Buses, dump trucks, bulldozers, rollers, cranes, backhoes, Pile drivers and other heavy equipment and vehicles.

Air Force: General Purpose Vehicle Maintenance Apprentice.
Work on sedans, pick up trucks, vans, buses, cargo trucks, tractors and trailers.

Which would be better to be a good, well trained vehicle mechanic in the civilian world?

P.S...........I am hoping Seabees. They seem way cooler. And they don't get on ships. Very Rare. They deploy for 6 months. Ten months they are on-base training.
