As a first term Airman, you have to stay at your first duty station for atleast one year. After that you can put in for orders. Update your dream sheet and try to match it up with listings on Equal, or Equal Plus. You can find these listings at the below link or visit your Orderly Room or MPF for more info.

Hope that helps!

God I hope you're not in space/missle & just figured out where you'd be assigned. No attention to detail & buttons like that just don't go together. You're stuck for a while. Ingnore your surroundings & work real hard on your job, including any extra training you can get (or some college coursework) so you can turn that merit into an asignment you'll enjoy. If you get all pissed off about it your performance is going to be crap & you'll never get out of there. There are a lot worse places (excluding Iraq) to be stationed than Idaho.

You got sent where they needed you. Minimum is at least 12 months( For the Navy it's 2 years ) Needs of the military will always prevail over personal prefernce.
Instead of harping on how crappy it is there, find something ANYTHING to enjoy about the area. Either on or off base. otherwise you'll be miserable and a pain in the butt to your superiors who will tag you as a complainer and not be willing to work with you at all.

I will assume this is a joke, unless you have a contact high up in the military, you are stuck where you are stuck.
You do your job and do your normal rotation.

Are you kidding? They do not let everyone choose. Half the military would be in Hawaii
