In California the law states kids have to attend school and parents are fined if they are truant. Yet, truant kids eventually get expelled and that's it. Cops can no longer arrest them. Is this the best way to handle the problem? Shouldn't there be stiffer consequences?

MN- I was posed w/this question. If I commit a crime, could my lawyer come from a firm which represented my victim? He didn't represent my victim, but his firm did. I need to know if conflict existed in this situation. What law was violated, if any were.

THEY SHOULD!! There are 3 major candidates, they have different proposals that concern America.
Is everyone aware of each candidates proposals?
Each candidate proposed their plans on the presidential debate. I'm voting for Obrador, the EX major of Mexico City. He promises to increase the tax on the rich and decrease the tax on the poor.
Another candidate (Calderon) proposed another taxing plan. He proposed to reduce the taxes on the rich even more since they already paid good money, and increase the taxes on the poor because they are majority and more money will come to the country from them. Some want to give out perks to Mexicans staying in Mexico, another wants to help Mexicans going over there. They have different ideas on using the money sent by Mexicans from the USA to Mexico.

The increase or decrease of Mexican immigration depends on the next president bettering or worsening the Mexican situation.

Do Americans realize how much this election means to them?

I mean, it has already been proven that:
1) The war wasn't about oil and the US didn't take any oil
2) Iraq did have WMDs (they were found a few days ago)

I mean I think the USA did a good thing by freeing the Iraqi people from an insane dictator that killed his own people. The Iraqis love their new freedoms. Those insurgents are from outside of Iraq.

I have worked for AAFES and they said that you can purchase Beer & Wine at 18 on almost all bases outside CONUS. Why is this? Isnt it insulting that you have less freedom back home then when abroad on even a military installation? Also on bases in the U.S. is it easy to get alcohol underage if your a service member being that there are always service member parties?

I purchased a purebred dog when my girlfriend and I first started dating and had it titled in both of our names. We split up a few months back and she took him with her and I really want to go about getting him back. I'm wondering, by law, do I have rights to him, or does she. We were never married and I paid for him in full, and I have notarized proof of payment from the breeder. I need to know that if I go to court, I can win it, no loop holes. I know the judge will see her crying act and she will say he was a gift and all that. But we weren't married, we weren't even living together when I bought him, and I paid for him.

Any help with this, or information where I can find out how it will be viewed and ruled on in court would be SO much appreciated. This dog is unbelievable and the girl has gotten on drugs since she left me and he would be so much better off with me. Please help me out!

If you look at the most populous countries in the world such as china and india...they have the greatest gap between the rich and the poor...people in the country can work for dollars a day, while people in cities work for dollars an hour...pollution is high, natural resources can't sustain everyone...if America keeps accepting immigrants...the American dream will go down the toilet...people have been complaining recently about the gap in america between the rich and the poor...
