Please don't get me wrong immigrants have done great for this country...but in my opinion it is time to slow down the influx and focus on what America needs...everyone in the world can't be rich, everyone can't live the america life style, the world just doesn't have enough natural resources to do that...americans over all live a better life style than everyone in the world...but i fear that will go down because of over population...

I totally agree with you, because the more immigrants that come to America (no offense) the more cultural assimilation rolls along because more countries leave their native influences here which begins to interfere with our own American cultures.
Also the more people that come to America the more our resources deplete. and the more money our government loses trying to maintain our peoples needs.

Most countries also have stricter policies on immigration. We need to control our borders and keep a strong labour force as well. The American lifestyle is so diverse, it would be difficult to define today. I believe we Will find solutions to these issues. Isolationism doesn't work these days. Countries are interdependent economically. By October of this year it is projected we will hit 300 million. The 1950's American Dream wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. I think we are discovering that keeping up with the Jone's isn't the key to being successful. We always find solutions and change solutions with the changing times. We'll be alright. That's what makes America so great. We solve problems.

We are a country that has been and will continue to be defined by immigrants, some of us not by choice. Not one of us can find our original root here in the US, except for native Indians and Mexicans. If our American life style has diminished it is only because we have but aside what our parents taught us of right and wrong. As a young girl my parents taught me to accept others and get to know those that are different. We as a country have always been afraid of change but our history will forever tell us that we are a people of survival. If we turn away all those who wish to come and take advantage of that which we ourselves take for granted. We must not fear the immigrant without but the immigrant within.

No, since America was built on immigrants - hence the dream. The Bill of Rights only gives us the right to the "pursuit of happiness" - not a guarantee that we get it. People keep coming to this country because of that right of pursuit. It's the people that are already here, who believe they are due happiness without having to work for it, who are the greatest threat to the American Dream.

Here is a theory , as the population becomes more and more Hispanic and they learn more about how our government works . We will see more and more Hispanics running for office . As the religious right , has done over the years , the Hispanic people will gradually take over our government , and move it the way they want .
