Citizens of Puerto Rico are US citizens but they are denied the fundamental right of any democracy, the right to vote. This reluctance of the US to give them the right to vote is something that have not been seen since the imperial ages of the early 20th century and severly damages our democracy promotion credability at home and abroad.

My husband (separated) and I have a son. He was involved in a bad accident in March. He is in a high level coma...cannot speak, stomach tube, ect. and is in a rehab facility. I signed over my rights to guardianship to his mother b/c we were on the way to divorce and it seemed like the right thing to do at the time. I was told that because she won't sign the release forms, it stops my husband and my son from qualifying for social security benefits. She just doesn't want me to have anything else to do with her son...I understand that, but it's not possible when we have a child together..I think my child and I am entitled to some help but she is refusing to sign any paperwork that will help us out. I can not get any support from his family. Does anyone know what to do??? Please help,...I'm running out of funds!

He now loves Mexican citizens who are living here illegally, who entered USA illegally and are now illegally living on the Social Security from the accounts of hard working, tax-paying American citizens. Why does Bush hate American citizens? Why does he love President Fox?

otherwise subject them to cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment.

But President Bush's signing statement said the president, as commander in chief, can "waive the torture ban" if he decides that harsh interrogation techniques will assist in preventing terrorist attacks.

Has the USA sunk to actively and publicly supporting torture?

Ok so there's alott of big cities around the country, that are letting their citizens vote on weather or not to impeach Bush. Now obviously it's not official, it's just a symbolic thing.

What do you think about it? Do you think it'll get enough attention to get congress moving. I know there's allot of people in the senate and congress that want to impeach him but for some reason aren't doing much about it.

Personally i think it's about damn time, he has trampled all over our constitution for long enough

I just asked this quesiton...but I add in some details.

It's not really my fault. I was covered by insurance and now they said I am not covered by the insurance.

And also, I think it should be damn dentist's responsibility to make sure if you are covered.

It's not like I ditched. Because I paid the portion was that supposedly uncovered by insurance. But now my dentist is calling me saying I ain't insured.

I'm of the opinion if the UN were moved to where the conflicts were you'd really see who was interested in doing something.

As it is it's in New York City. Mecca for capitalists. Free parking for diplomats, great resteraunts, Broadway shows, and everything else. Who wouldn't want to have to put up with some trivial debates that have no effect for all that?

The blues, Davis, Dylan, Robert Johnson, DeNiro, Pacino, Hoffman. There's substance, but isn't there is a lot of narcissism too.

Politically, US foreign policy strikes many around the world as adolescent and American's unquestioning belief in American values as a. naive and b. the result of a lack of any deep understanding of other cultures.
from where other cultures stand American patriotism is often overkill (no pun). So much about freedom and democracy and flag waving and bald headed eagles and stars and stripes. What other countries shout so loudly (except in the world cup) and what would you think of them if they did. What other regimes have paid such attention to flags and national symbols (no fascism rants please, though qualified contrasts and comparisons ok).
Objectively, is this totemic and tribal?
As for everybody wanting to come to /be like America - , immigration in to australia or western europe is largely financial, isn't this the case with much migration

Anti-gay movement = limiting gay marriages, and general hatred toward homosexuals.

Segregation = the movement to separate whites from African-Americans

Anti-women's rights = the movement to keep women from being able to vote, equal opportunity in the work-place, etc.

Pro-Slavery = the movement that was a key element/impetuous to the Civil War.

I just don't understand how we Americans can be so hateful of a group of people. In the past, we have altered our constitution on the matters of Slavery, Women's Rights, and Segregation. Proving that we can move to eliminate hatred, and to protect the rights of human beings, our citizens.

I feel the anit-gay movement is virtually identical to these since forgotten, and carefully legislated-way aberrations of our history.

Someone tell me - how is it different - fundamentally?

I'm straight, and stand up for the rights of Americans - including homosexuals, women, and African-Americans.

So I was seeing this guy right. He was ok at first but then turned Neocon on me. So as his new Neocon ideals grew stronger and harder, his performance in the bedroom area, umm.. how can I put this...went sorta limp. SO I dumped him for a hot Liberal dude. Now this poor Neocon calls everyday saying he'd kill himself if I don't go back with him. At first I tried to be nice saying it's not him it was me and stuff. But his persistence is getting to be freakin annoying. What should I Do? I wonder.

Literally, by supporting abortion ?

Consider this: Millions of babies never born because they were aborted. These babies would have grown up and been more likely to vote Democratic because:

- Younger people tend to be more liberal.
- Minority women are more likely to get an abortion.
- Children vote like their parents. Probably, most of those women who had abortions are more likely Democratic voters than Republicans.

If you refer to the US standards it would also be helpful.
