I'm of the opinion if the UN were moved to where the conflicts were you'd really see who was interested in doing something.
As it is it's in New York City. Mecca for capitalists. Free parking for diplomats, great resteraunts, Broadway shows, and everything else. Who wouldn't want to have to put up with some trivial debates that have no effect for all that?

Oh my God. You should totally run for President. If the UN was in Baghdad or the Gaza Strip these wars that last for years would only last like three days. That's how you have world peace make all these world leaders have to meet in the same places they are bombing. Once that first bullet past their head they will be signing peace treaties left and right.

The UN is basically a club set up so third world diplomats can hang out in New York and act important.
And since the UN loves "third world freedom fighters" so much, Gaza would be an excellent choice.
