Would it be such a bad idea to make four years of military service an option for someone caught as an illegal? I mean why put them in an overcrowded prison for tax payers to support if they are able bodied enough to serve in our military? Face it, we have to help Iraq rebuild their country. I don't forsee an end to this Middle East situation anytime soon, but would it be so bad to have people be productive and work for their citizenship, instead of skulking around the law all their lives? I'm not saying that four years of service should be the only thing that guarantees them citizenship, but it could be included as part of a fast track program that combines all of the other current requirements for citizenship. Of course they could be given the choice to serve or sit in prison. I'm not saying we should force someone to do this, but rather have this as an option so that a person could work for a living legally as well as earn their citizenship.

between al Quada and Hussain, and nothing was found. Since this is so important to our decision to attack Iraq, why is it not a higher priorty item for public consumption?

(And I know about the Afgan who told of the connection, under torture in Egypt, and later recanted.) This doesn't count.

News came out this past week, the 17 kids arrested in Canada were setup by Canadian Intelligence Service to tip the agenda and ressources in their favor. That makes us wonder if this could not be the case too with the Florida 7. Since there was no imminent threat anymore, nothing better than creating a brand new one...

I heard today that part of the republican "compromise" to raising the minimum wage, was to only raise it to $6.25, but part of the bill proposed would make it illegal to take a minor out of state to have an abortion. Does this make ANY sense?????

I am a french girl and I am so surprised by the gap between our vision of bush and this of a part of americans .Despite all the lies he has made with dick cheney and all the government and despite all the death of these young soldiers you still belive in him. I can understand the shock of september 09 2001 but in france and in we have to take face to this for many years but despite this we are not ready to involve our armys in war in the countries of the terrorists who attacked us.We can't sacrified all a population because of a group of crazy people. Moreover I was shoked by the people who were injuring france when our government decided to say no to the war.We are in a democracy and we must accepted the choices of the others. It so crazy to hate somebody because he doesn't agreed with you.One opinion it's not always the best.Unfortunately now it's to late and all the people who were against the war seemed to be right. No massive weapons A lot of death and more terrorisTS IN IRAK!

if we're supporting the CHINA ECONOMY
when we (I personally haven't stepped foot
in any "China-Mart" for at least 5 yrs) so when
you shop to get all your useless junk at Wal-Mart
don't you feel bad that your not buying Made In USA

What happened to MADE IN AMERICA PRIDE?
(I would think Republicans would cry about this
issue seeing how they claim they are TRUE Patroits)

Just saw a post from a guy here in Austin who is sure Kinky Friedman is going to win for governor. he used a phrase I constantly hear from Dems "All my friends are voting for him." Dems cannot believe they lost the last two elections because "all of their friends" voted Democratic. They never quite see the conundrum.

The most partisan Dems are surprisingly insular. They run in the same circles, refusing to date or socialize with non-Dems. Since I'm in a liberal town, most women assume I'm Dem until they hear I was in th Marines. I constantly hear how someone proudly describes themselves a "total bleeding heart liberal" all about peace and love. What comes next? A list of people they hate. And boy is it long. All Republicans, non-vegans, Christians, "rich white guys" etc. Their hate list usually hits aboout 75% of the country.

Dems, especially libs, need to branch out more and not put themselves on a pedestal. It would help you regain the populist edge that you lost.

These Bill would restore "good time" to prisoners and eliminate the terms "the terms "disciplinary time" language from the existing statues and would give the MDOC andthe Parole Board a little more leverage as to
what would be under the "jurisdiction of MDOC.

Well the only problem with this logic is that before entering USA, anyone has to go through UNITED STATES' CUSTOMS not Canadian Customs. So why do Americans are putting blame on Canadians neighbors? Because it is convenient to blame others rather than recognize their wrongs?

My friend just recently joined the Army and left for boot camp this week. Before he left he told me he requested to be shipped over seas to Iraq and that his request has been granted.
He was saposed to come home for a week in October after boot camp, before being sent to another base. but he told me that he won't be able to come home for that week now that his request to go to Iraq is granted.
Is there a way you can go see a solider after boot camp if they can't come home?
