It's called 'exporting good will'. I agree with you that more money needs to be spent at home.

The money sent to other countries is just a small part of the budget. It's very expensive to run a government. A better solution would be to cut the defense budget. It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber.

Giving money to ther countries is not the cause for the debt. The Clinton government gave money away to other countries also. The reason for your debt is that the government is giving the rich people back a large portion of their income taxes to the tune of many billions of dollars. So, while the poor pay their portion of the taxes, the wealthy buy a bigger house and a bigger yatch.

In my opinion the US is buying or trying to buy friendship of other countries. Like trying to buy love. Oh. we hear that it's done to help the poverty stricken in other countries, but rarely gets where it's intended. And how much stays in ruler's pocket, even the wealthy countries, like Saudi Arabia. WE give money to Saudi for their police force to fight Terrorism. HUH? We give money to Columbia, to fight drugs. HUH! The damned gov. promotes drugs. Mexico, same thing. The gov. is as crooked as the crooks, actually same thing.
Think about this. The more you give to someone, the more they hate you because you don't give more.
Don't believe for a minute another party will change this.

Because we give them money and they buy from US firms. The corps get rich, who pay little if any taxes, but your pocketbook is a lot lighter. Someone is going to have to pay the almost 9 Trillion dollar national debt and I guarantee it wont be corporations or the Rich!!
