I heard today that part of the republican "compromise" to raising the minimum wage, was to only raise it to $6.25, but part of the bill proposed would make it illegal to take a minor out of state to have an abortion. Does this make ANY sense?????

It's called a 'rider'. an unrelated amendment that is attached to a bill to get it passed.

A lot of times when the propose a bill they will add other stuff this bill that will make it so people don't want to pass it. Like for example they will put a bill to raise min. wage with say raising taxes 20%. People will shoot down the bill bill because they don't want to raise taxes even though raising minimum wage is way over due.
