Just like that guy said in the movie Armageddon..."Russian components, American components, all made in Taiwan".

No, Many American cars are not made in America. Much of Pontiac for decades were made in Canada!

Now a large portion of parts in American vehicles are not American made, and many companies, like Ford, also own foreign auto companies!

There is a strong blur as what companies are really American!

Nissan builds their cars to stay in the US here in this country, though most parts are not American, Just the labor! I think I would rather have that than American companies having their cars built overseas or in Mexico or Canada!

Let's say you are the only one in the world that builds cars. Let's say you build them in America. Let's say no one buys your cars. Are you out of a job? Follow the logic. Obviously you aren't the only one that makes cars, which means you are selling less cars because some else is making them and selling them. Now say there are a lot of car companies and no one buys yours, are you out of a job. Of course! If you have been to college and taken anything close to a business class, you will understand how the little things add up.

Probably not.

The American car companies sealed their fate long ago. Consistently caving to the UAW was one of the most suicidal things they could have done for their competitiveness. The Unions have done themselves in and will soon have no job, as opposed to one with realistic wages and benefits. The American car companies have brought this upon themselves and deserve the consequences of what is to come.

Say goodnight UAW.

Of course.

However, that's why a lot of american products are more expensive than imported goods. People here are only willing to work for high enough wages, compared to the low pay many foreign workers get.

This is also why the American made Gibson guitars are much more expensive than their Mexican made counterparts, Epiphone.
