Bush is rushing to frame the immigration issue as Code Red and militarize the border with Mexico. People have fled their homelands to come to this country in the hope of a better life for themselves and their children for centuries. Suddenly, it's a "national emergency"? Please. With Bush's low approval rating and the Republicans deeply divided, perhaps he's just worried about an electoral emergency.

The deaths are now; the grief is now. We must therefore decide now if we are being played for patriotic fools by people willing to risk our children in this cause but not their own.

I appreciate his effort and it does send the message to people that Republicans and Democrats aren't the only answer, but I have trouble taking him seriously. I know he has experiance in politics...but really...?

It's the jacket with the hood concealed in the collar. There are several makers (Alpha, Ultra force, etc.) but is there any difference among their products? Maybe in the cut, or collar size...

For all of those that will answer this like "why? Are you not a Democrat? Everyone's entitled to their own opinion etc etc, I'm well aware of that. I'm just trying to get opinions as to why people chose whatever party they claim to be. Thanks :-)

The recent proposal is for a line item veto power that congress would be required to vote on each item and congress could override the veto with a 50% majority.

Personally I like the idea. It is basically the president pointing at a peice and going " Are you sure you want this measure".

My opinion is that a minority in congress should have similar abilities to force a line item vote as well. Our representatives are getting to use to spending tax money however they want.

I keep hearing about the poor kids running bare foot in the streets, hungry in the middle of the night.
Well, if you really want to see something like that you don't have to cross the border. Just get some whowhos and go into your local ghettos. You will find children of all color running the streets bare foot and hungry in the middle of the night. That is until the police come in and impose the curfews. Almost all of these people are Americans forced into low paying jobs, because they have to under bid the illegals for work. While the illegals are able to get millions of dollars in grants and loans from your local community to help them get established.
3/4 of America's people live below the poverty level. Which also means that the mass majority of Americans have little to no education.
When are we going to start helping them? If you want to be a good person help your fellow man in need, not those who premediatedly committed crimes to get across the border

Iran sent President Bush a 17 page letter which President Bush refused to reply to simply because the letter didn't address issues the way The Bush Administration would prefer. - This letter to our President was, at least, some dialogue which could have opened a door to further communications between Iran and the United States.

North Korea, is redirected away from diplomacy with the United States and talks are outsourced to other Nations who are supposed to get America's point across.

With out disagreements, there would be little need for diplomacy but without diplomacy, there will never be agreements.
