I keep hearing about the poor kids running bare foot in the streets, hungry in the middle of the night.
Well, if you really want to see something like that you don't have to cross the border. Just get some whowhos and go into your local ghettos. You will find children of all color running the streets bare foot and hungry in the middle of the night. That is until the police come in and impose the curfews. Almost all of these people are Americans forced into low paying jobs, because they have to under bid the illegals for work. While the illegals are able to get millions of dollars in grants and loans from your local community to help them get established.
3/4 of America's people live below the poverty level. Which also means that the mass majority of Americans have little to no education.
When are we going to start helping them? If you want to be a good person help your fellow man in need, not those who premediatedly committed crimes to get across the border

Wow! from many of the postings that I just read through allot Americans really don't like to look out there back door, and see what is really there. They would rather cry about how bad it is else where than it is here. Some even went as far as to deny their was even a ghetto, or poor side of town if you will. Have any of these Americans ever asked themselves why the crime levels in these areas are so bad.
Remember as so many of you have plead with me on behalf of the illegals," they are only desperate, and want to feed their families."

I have help many in health benefits--they can't get the help -foreigners can (it had a purpose in the beginning), And now they get even less because of the strain on programs.
As in Chicago when they chased the poor away from their TV News cameras. No one wants to hear their problems-it wouldn't help their cause. We have too many here to take care of. And many of our disable Vets live there. Many of our returning solders will live there too-if they are disable and can not work.
And too many people think their are programs for them-there isn't. Try living on SSD average $700. -rent, food, medicine,utilities,clothing-your rent would have to be $200. just to eat.
Yes look in your own backyard-when they are taken care-give to others. Because by letting more in -your are hurting them more.

I have no evidence this is related, but whatever money they get has to come from somewhere. As much as I know now that Clinton, and Hillary won't be any different, that he catered to illegals, right up to the last hours in office signing law to their benefit, I know that he was the president that cut vertern benefits in half.

If anyone can corroborate either way, I'd appreciate it, like I said I don't know if they are related other than being part of the federal budget.

And I have been in the ghettos, including Newark and Paterson NJ and surrounding areas. They are NOT all blacks they are of all ethinic groups. Paterson is such that many people have pit bulls, and let them roam around the streets at night. I do have to say characteristically even in the areas where people were recently shot, I did not encounter any problems and the people I met were very nice. I was once stuck in a ghetto in Philadelphia at 3 AM, and anyone that passed by me warned me that I was in a dangerous place and their were gangs out every night looking for people to harass and kill. This was from the locals to a place I've never been to before on the street!

But as they have demonstrated in their demonstrations, attitude is not a reason to suspend our constitution.

I use to work in some. They are nothing like you see on TV. The people dress better then me. Everyone owns there own home and has a nice car. BUT there are alot of hard drugs. I went to a park to eat lunch and there were needles everywhere and crack addicts walking around and asking me for my lunch. I saw a woman taking a crap with 2 other druggies watching while some kids were playing on the swings and others playing basketball near by. The drug dealing is very visible, if that happened where I live cops would be everywhere.

I always wondered how most people there owned there owned homes and had nice cars. Only thing I can think of is interest free loans for minorities and/or drug dealing that seems everyone was doing there if they wernt trying to be the next big rapper.

There are plenty of poor people in the US and the government should be helping them instead of the Mexicans

I am shocked at the lack of humanity here. You can't tar everyone with the same brush. Yes some people take advantage but many others including innocent children through no fault of their own are suffering in poverty. I find it surprising that a country made from immigration is so hostile to people who simply see America as a great country and the land of opportunity. However, many probably don't expect to encounter the attitude here of every man for themself.

Yes, I've been to these places. Most importantly, 75% of American do NOT live below the poverty line. It's 12% (U.S. Census Bureau).

Your comments greatly shame the Democrat party. They've been telling these exact people that they're going to help them - for over 50 years now. And nothing has changed! The Democrats have screwed and abandoned these people. Education is actually getting much, much worse in this country. Education is the key to success in life, the Democrats control it, and it is a complete and utter failure. Shame on the Democrats for lying to these people and abandoning them to such unacceptable living conditions.

According to a report in last year’s New York Times, each year, undocumented immigrants pay an estimated $7 billion more than they get from Social Security and $1.5 billion more than they get from Medicare.

Your claim that "they have to under bid the illegals for work" is false.

According to a November report in USA Today, job and wage growth in 10 U.S. inner cities with high immigrant populations outpaced job and wage growth in their broader metropolitan statistical areas.

Also, according to a 2004 study by the Urban Policy Institute, undocumented workers make up less than 10 percent of the 43 million low-wage workers in the United States.

The idea that 4 million undocumented workers are somehow responsible for keeping down the wages of the other 39 million low-wage workers is nonsensical--and only pits groups of workers against each other.

The pitting of workers against eachother is the general strategy of the Republicans to manufacture this "Red Alert" emergency. It is a cover for the Iraq quagmire and also a good issue to surf into office on by the Republicans in the fall and in 2008.

By allowing your own prejudices to be appealed to by these politicians you are guarantying a win of the most terrorist, murderous, fascist government in power on the earth.

You have no one to blame but yourself.

I'm sorry to have to reply to this, cause I know that some kids in America do go hungry. But that's cause their parents smoke up the food stamps they get each month.I've even bought food stamps from crack heads,if they want to sell em then I'll buy.Man,kids in most ghettos live better than you and me.Yeah, they live in projects, but their moms buy them clothes from the mall and have brand name shoes on their feet. And taxpayers pay for them to live (lights,water,food,check,medicaid,etc..).And illegals pay for this too. They pay taxes(tax ID#)and can't live in public housing.
These americans forced into low paying jobs are there cause they didn't finish school. If they wanted a good job, they could get one. They don't want to do any hard or dirty work. For years, alot of americans have thought themselves too good for such work.Sorry dude, but go look in a ghetto sometime for real. You'll see drug dealers with gold on and driving nice cars living in public housing. Then go look at your average illegal hispanic. They work everyday and support their families doing jobs they try really hard to do.If Americans wanted these jobs, they could have them--any employer would take an english speaking person over a spanish speaking one, just cause they can communicate better. The americans just don't want to.
To help someone, they have to want to help themselves, right?

The illegal immigrants that are here are not doing too bad for money, why dont people in our ghettos get 2 or 3 jobs and they will be ahead of the game? I have absolutely NO pity for poor people in this country! We have so many opportunities to make money it is not even funny! If you REALLY want to, you can make a good living. Common sense is good too. Dont do things that will ruin your life like have sex when you are 14 or do drugs.

No I haven't gone out of my way to visit but I have lived in ghettos or very poor rural areas. It is frightening and infuriating to read these very uncompassionate and ignorant answers. If you have not lived in this situation or have not educated yourself by respectfully listening to others talk about their lives, or at the very least reading some well written, first-person accounts then you really don't know what you are talking about.

He does have a point, though. I can't think of any other country on Earth that would put the world before their own country! As Americans, we have been way too "global" lately, and we have our own problems, right in our backyard! And with that much poverty in the U.S., we are not all RICH! It's time to be more nationalistic in the USA.
