By moving to the middle on political issues, which is where most Americans are, and booting the liberals out of the party. I turned to the GOP because the hard-core right wingers had pretty much moved to the libertarians, and the liberal extremists had hijacked the Dems. Plus, I had given up the pretend moral highground of being a socialist - the mass murders of socialist regimes in the 20th century forced me to admit that socialism wasn't going to work on this planet.
The nice thing about the Republican party is that it is ok to have open debate and disagreements. Conservative talk show hosts are hard on Ted Kennedy, Howard Dean, George Bush, and everyone else when they deserve it. Even when Bill Clinton was lying to the American people and to a court of law, criticizing him was verboten for Democrats.

hard to say. I know I wont vote for any of the butt scratching finger sniffing morons this year. I just hope they get somebody decent to run for president.
